I wanted to take a moment to share with all of you my most recent experience with the Leasing Team at the Cannery and most specifically with Stephanie who I believe manages the office.
I have spent the last couple months in due-diligence of the newer apartment properties in and around Orlando in needing to move by the first of March and been tracking my findings in an excel spreadsheet. In doing so you can imagine the shear amount of questions I have been asking of some 22 properties in search of my next home.
By far The Cannery checked all my boxes in being the newest and an absolutely stunning property with first rate amenities at a fairly decent price point. I found the Leasing staff to be friendly, courteous and most importantly extremely responsive to the slough of questions I threw at them over a period of s week especially Stephanie as she had patience of steel in getting me the answers I was looking for as part of my due-diligence.
As of the date of this review I have not as of yet made a final decision on my new home but The Cannery is certainly at the top of my list. My hope is that should I decide to pursue The Cannery that I will receive just as good time and attention from the Leasing staff during the Application process.
I would like to make a final comment in that you will find online a few “negative” reviews primarily centering around the conduct of the leasing staff which I find them to be the difference between night and day from what I have experienced and I would suggest as I would anyone if have concerns after reading to simply pick up the phone and make a call to the property and find out for yourself as everyone’s state of mind is different and you should take the good and bad reviews as simply a point of reference from which you be doing your own due diligence,
The modern yet rustic nature and industrial look to the property of an era gone by is greatly appealing but YES be prepared as the property is in an area currently going through an Urban Renewal and is still reflecting a bit of the seeder side of Orlando but what an exciting opportunity to be park of a “Phoenix Rising” from the ashes as the neighborhood is already beginning to reflect some of the significant planned renewal changes for the area with a Publix going in just across from the Complex.
Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I hope it will be of some help to a few of you out there looking for your next opportunity at finding a real place to call...
Read moreDon't move here if you have family and friends who want to visit you. Having a parking garage is great and being able to get into your car in the summers without it being 100 degrees is fantastic. However that has its drawbacks in this complex. The complex only gives you a garage pass per vehicle registered to the house hold. Which is great for security, but they only have 32 guest spots for ~300 units. The math doesn't add up. Guests cannot park in the garage or they will get towed. After today, you can't give a spare parking pass and garage pass to a guest because you now need to scan your key fob to get from the hallways to the garage. (an already pass protected area) The office also does not let you get another key fob that opens access doors. (you can't even pay to get another one) The people in the office, while extremely friendly and great people, previously suggested guests park at Publix (a Publix on our initial tour they told us would open 5 months before it really did) but they are towing there now too. I made this post a 3 stars because the complex is nice and new, despite having design flaws. Like an inch gap under apartment front doors leads to incredibly loud hallway noise, or enclosed hallways that smell like rotting corpses every night due to trash collection. I think the complex does a good job hosting events on holidays and bringing food trucks out. However, the complex communication with residents is just poor when it comes to negative issues. Fire alarms that have gone off without any reason given to tenants. No heads up when pest control sprays poisons in and around the dog park, leading to multiple dogs getting sick. Every email this complex sends comes without a contact email to respond back with questions. The phone on the rental portal and website goes to a dialogue tree that almost always ends in an answering service. The current front staff at the complex are a very kind and accommodating, but some decisions that are being made a level above them seem to be made by people that don't have to live in this complex daily or have never lived in an...
Read moreI am hoping this review makes a difference in the way that this building is managed. When we first moved in, I called the leasing office and told them what time I would be there to pick up the keys. They sounded confused but acknowledged. When I got to the building and was given my key fob, I went to the unit. The amount of disgust I was in was insane. Cat hair, human hair everywhere, black dirty floors, dirty sink, dirty cabinets and dirty bathroom. I went back down to the leasing office after trying to clean a bit, and showed photos to explain the situation. It was as if someone just moved out and no one has cleaned the unit. I demanded to move units because this was unacceptable. After 48 hours they moved our unit (as we didn’t move in yet). This was just the start. Once management changed, no one gets back to you about any requests or questions. There are so many hidden fees that are not discussed when asked, the building AC is messed up in the halls, they put the scents in the hall ways on occasion so most of the time it smells bad, people do not watch their kids (the pool area is horrible due to this), people let their dogs swim in the pool, I was told maintenance needs up to a week to fulfill a request (something that takes 5 minutes to fix) when I only have 1 bathroom. Additionally, I had a guest staying with me and was laughed at and told “we don’t do that” as I asked for a “guest key fob” since I would be at work all day. Another major complaint and the reason for this review is that maintenance asks on the form if you give permission to enter the unit if you’re not home. I put “no” and they have came twice without my permission (even after listing my availability). This is not okay and I will be speaking with management further. When I asked how and why this happened I was told my request was completed and that they are busy so they can’t come when I want (again I did not give permission to enter my unit). I do not recommend as someone coming from an actual...
