Dicks is the epitome of bait and switch. I purchased 2 pairs of Hoka shoes and wore them for a few weeks to my office. I’m a business professional and wore the shoes to work daily because dress shoes hurt my feet after sitting for 8 to 10 hours a day. Paid about $385 for the pair. When I purchased the shoes I was told I had 90 days to return the shoes. This was the beginning of Dicks’ scam. When I attempted to return the shoes due to them not being very supportive. Comfortable but not supportive. The first ? the cashier asked was had I worn the shoes outside. Strange? considering I had owned the shoes for a few weeks. I said of course they have been worn outside but mainly inside an office building. The shoes I attempted to return looked brand new. The salesman man looked at the soles and said oh these were worn outside so I can’t take them back. This was upsetting since I was told I had 90 days to return the shoes. What I was not told at POS is I could only return the shoes if they were never worn. Who pays $385 for shoes but never wears them? Hence the great Dicks bait and switch scam. The loss of the money didn’t bother me much since I donated the shoes to the homeless. I will never shop at Dicks again. I would say that you should be ready to lose money if you purchase shoes from them, wear them and then take them up on their 90 day return policy. Dicks baits people to buy with a 90 day return and pulls a switch scam when returns...
Read moreTLDR : Had to return to the store a few times to correct a poorly assembled bicycle.
I got a new bicyle from this place. While trying the bicycle, I noticed that the handle bar was off. Despite repeatedly asking for it to be corrected and specifying what was wrong, the bike tech fumbled with adjustments that didn't correct problem. I gave up and continued trying the bicycle.
I bought the bicycle and went on to the road only to notice some of the clips holding the brake lines on to the frame were missing. I returned to the shop and got them fixed.
On my ride back home, I noticed the gears were not shifting correctly. I had to return to the store to get it fixed. This was supposed to be a new bike, but its apparent that the bike techs did a poor assembly job.
Finally on my ride home, I noticed that the front brake pad was touching the brake rotor while the brake lever was free. It was pretty late and I decided to just get home rather than return to the place and get it fixed.
In summary, I feel this place can do a lot better when it comes to assembling their bicycles and paying more attention to fine tuning a bicycle on sale. Until then, I would avoid buying bicycles...
Read moreI had the most amazing customer experience tonight at Dick’s Sporting Goods on Herndon Avenue! Extremely professional and courteous teammates who were ever willing to assist even as closing time approached. I was attended to by Tiara (wishing you tremendous fulfillment as you settle into your new job! :)) and Felicity (who was assisted by a teammate from the sneaker section when looking for a particular VRST shirt). All three teammates were models of patience and persistence in trying to ensure I found the items I wanted. Daniel deserves a medal for searching high and low for a particular item his PDT showed was in-store before eventually, and painstakingly, helping me place an online order for several items… and thanks, Daniel, for sharing the nuances of smart online ordering at Dick’s and the brief master class on Creole and Cajun cooking in Louisiana! :) Everyone I interacted with at the store, no matter how briefly, displayed genuine interest in prioritizing the customer’s needs—thank you, Ryon, at checkout! While this Dick’s location is not the nearest to my home, I will go out of my way to return there for first-class customer service...
