Lake Nona Plaza — Local services in Orlando

Nice clean store but when school let's out...look out! The parking lot is filled with parents waiting to pickup their kids & the lot is chaotic not to mention it's hard to find a place to park! Groups of kids running & yelling throughout the store! Parents who wait in their cars are oblivious to this behavior. The LEO at the front entrance does nothing but watch them come in & go out. Publix has taken the initiative to post signs even had police in the parking lot & instructing parents to move on but the next week it goes back to the same thing. There is a road behind Publix that parents could wait for their children after school. Why not try that? God forbid they can walk that far! I only went to the Publix in this plaza and it was very busy. There were hordes of teenagers there getting out of school and although that shouldn't be a problem (everybody has to shop right?) The staff were posted up like security guards obviously staring at them. The teens were naturally acting like teens, being loud, chanting things, and just basically using the store as a hangout spot. Maybe it's just the time I was there but the whole place just didn't make for a pleasurable shopping environment. Even outside of the Publix and all over the plaza it was the same thing. Such a friendly and courteous group of employees. Helpful in the aisles helping us find items. Helpful and incredibly friendly in the deli where Joey made us some second to none subs. Helpful and super friendly at the checkouts where we were checked out in a flash, and bagged by a kid who actually cared how he packed our groceries, asking us if we wanted a few items separately bagged or included in the other bags we already had. Just a fantastic experience all around - like we have ALWAYS with Publix , but with THIS Publix in particular.
