This man is the kind of doctor ALL doctors should aspire to be like. He sets the standard in medicine not only with his medical knowledge and thorough treatment plans to save lives, but in his incredible bedside manner. He will talk to you like you’ve know eachother for years- like he’s a family member or dear friend. He does not dismiss the spouse or family and addresses them as well. (Aren’t we ALL in this fight TOGETHER?) In the past I was a ghost in the room and felt like I was dismissed or an annoyance w my husband’s oncologist. :( Dr. Vollenweider includes everyone in discussions AND EXPLAINS everything so you UNDERSTAND including showing and talking through pics from your scans. He wants it to be a team effort. He is relaxed, laid back and immediately put you at ease. No ego, no rushing, making sure you completely understand everything. He actually works WITH YOU together on a treatment plan going forward. He is extremely detail oriented and doesn’t miss a thing. He is so knowledgeable and KIND. We are already scared. He makes that all go away with his magic. With his heart and his brain. What a combo. TY Dr.V, Jen and staff, for all you have done for us and continue to do. I also want to mention that they are extremely prompt on getting back to you with answers and problem solving with insurance, or questions re anything you have re treatment, etc. Great communication! I cannot stress this enough! When you are sick and fighting for your life, the last thing you want is added stress of dealing with insurance, with referrals, questions, etc….. all the ‘other’ things that come along with your treatment that is sometimes confusing and often times very frustrating. His staff is amazing with their correspondence and helping in any way they can. We are SO BLESSED we found this doctor and staff and we truly love them! We will never forget the way Dr.V makes us feel bc we have been on the other receiving end of much unpleasantry with other doctors and it’s crushing. He more than makes up for that. Trust me…. You WANT Dr. Vollenweider for your pulmonary oncologist. He’s the real deal. Ty Doc and entire staff for all your hard work and dedication ….for all you give to your patients....

I'm writing this review for my dad, Jorge Silva. He is a patient of Dr. V. My dad was treated by his pulmonologist for many many years for COP and emphysema. His condition got worse after he had COVID back in November 2020 and he started to use oxygen 24/7. He wasn't able to do anything without it; eating, walking, having a little conversation was difficult for him, but back in July he had an appointment with Dr. V (his pulmonologist referred him to Dr. V). We are so grateful for this referral, we are immensely thankful to Jossie, she is Dr. V's assistance, for calling my parents and tell them to just go to the appointment and get the information from Dr. V. This turned to be the best decision ever, Dr V performed a procedure on my dad that changed his life tremendously. Dr V inserted valves on my dad's left lung (Endobronchial valve placement) and now he can walk, eat, go to the bathroom without being short of breath, even sing without the cannulas on his nose. Dr. Vollenweider is indeed one of the best that I’ve ever had the pleasure of being his patient. He is not only a great pulmonary surgeon but a very patient and kind Dr, him and his team treat you as their own family, I was so nervous and afraid but they made sure I was comfortable and relaxed as much as possible I’ve never see a Dr that make you family, my children are in a totally different state but he took the time to make them aware every step of the way via FaceTime and he spoke to them as if his own family and with that they were confident and comfortable. When he wasn’t at hospital his team was there and for that I can truly say Dr V. and his team are the best yet and with the surgery that was done on me I promise you that he saved my life. Today I’m living a much more comfortable life because of his knowledge, patience, and the valves that he inserted in my lung....
