It was my husband’s and my first time at this establishment. We decided to stop and grab breakfast and coffee on Saturday since it was less than a mile from our hotel. The service was great and we were greeted warmly and was helped tremendously by the cashier who explained the coffee and made it easy for us to decide. They had asked for our name which made it easy for us to identify our order. We were so pleased we decided to return again in Sunday, which was a complete 180 from the experience we received on Saturday.
On Sunday the two gentlemen that were serving were not warm and felt like they were having a bad day. When I tried to describe the coffee that we had to the cashier, he just nodded and did not make any eye contact, nor did he ask for a name for the order which created a tsunami of issues for all the customers that were there. Service was already slow and they were just calling out orders for pick up which ended up creating confusion because my husband had a similar order as another customer (which we wouldn’t have been aware of) and we grabbed it and sat down while I waited for my sandwich. It took so long for my order that my husband practically finished his meal and when I went up to ask about my order the guy told me it’s a bit slow in the kitchen. He Didn’t bother to even check on our order. Finally 2 sandwiches came out and that’s when I realized that my husband may have taken another customer’s sandwich. So I asked the lady that was standing there what did she order and sure enough she said the good morning sandwich, which was the same sandwich that my husband ordered. I apologized and told her I’ll take mine and she can have the one my husband was supposed to have. And the part that really grind my gears was when the barista asked , “we good?” No empathy or compassion for their mix up. I could tell that the other lady was annoyed too because she asked for her sandwich to go. I too was also upset and even commented as I was walking back to my table, that they should’ve asked for our names like they did on Saturday.
Initially was going to give a 4-star review but after that experience I gave 2 stars and won’t be back again. It goes to show how much of a difference customer service can impact a business rating
FYI: I even gave FREE advertising on Instagram on Saturday for my followers but had I known what was going to take place on Sunday, I would’ve just ate my sandwich and drank my...
Read moreI was a hopeful Foxtail would be open this morning in the post-Ian aftermath in Orlando. I'd been checking every day but due to nearby floods, Foxtail had been closed. It's within walking distance of my hotel so I took a nice walk again this morning and headed on over. I could see the lights on so I was thrilled!
I was the first customer after Ian! The baristas were happy to have a customer and to be working. A little bit of normalcy in a non-normal world.
We chatted and I asked about the source of their coffee. They source directly from farms in Central America and roast their own coffee right here in Orlando. I was excited to try my traditional pure double espresso. No sugar. No cream. Just espresso!
The crema produced was incredibly thick and creamy. In fact, there seemed to be more crema than coffee! I've never seen something like this!
The aroma was warm and inviting. Now, to taste...
One word came to mind for this clearly medium roasted espresso... smooth! Dare I say it, the second word was chocolate!
Thanks Foxtail for the delicious tasting experience! Life is good with...
Read moreThey messed up my order and made me ill with dairy…as a vegan I made it clear I need my bagel with guac and veggie spread. They clearly understood my request and then proceeded to make my food wrong. After I ate half the sandwich, someone from the kitchen came out to inform me that it was in fact actually dairy cream cheese on bagel. He apologized. They refunded me. I am feeling very upset about this because my day has been ruined by my stomach being unsettled now. I have not had dairy in over ten years…so I’m feeling very ill. Lactose intolerance should be taken more seriously. When I asked for a manager they refused to connect me with one saying they aren’t available. After coming here for years, I’ll never return here after this experience. I’ll be sure to tell every vegan I know not to waste their money at Foxtail. Get more professional staff! Front of house and kitchen both messed up and all they could do is be embarrassed, apologize and refund. Very unprofessional. I want to speak with someone at...
