Summary: Sales experience was great but the follow-ups and inaccurate information given to the customer changed this 5 star review to a 1 star review.
We came in to browse for furniture ideas and ended up using their free interior design services. We worked with Mimi and Jen. At our initial visit, we picked out the couches, chairs, and some fabric swatches for upholstery and pillows.
We then set up a time for Mimi and Jen to visit our house to take measurements and present their ideas for a color scheme based on what we picked out in store. I highly recommend doing this since lighting in the store and your home can vary as well as it's nice to see the colors with your painted walls and flooring.
A week after the in-home appointment, they present to you a computerized design to scale of your room. This is the appointment where you finalize your purchase.
At no point during the process did we feel pressured to buy everything they offered. Mimi and Jen were respectable of our budget. They said delivery would be in 6-8 weeks and Mimi would call 2-3 weeks for an update. We put 50% down and would make the second payment when the items were ready to be delivered.
Up until that point I would have rated 5 stars.
I waited 4 weeks and gave them a call. It turns out, 2 of our pieces would be delayed until August since they were a new collection. I have a toddler so we can't really wait that long for a tv stand. I was upset that I had to call to find out about the delay. Shouldn't I have received a call a week earlier? I appreciate that they let me use a loaner console table and that they delivered the rest of their order - this is after I had said to cancel the console table and end table orders as I needed to buy from somewhere else that had them ASAP.
We paid the remaining balance and were assured we wouldn't owe anything when the 2 other pieces ship out in August. We receive the remainder of our order in August. Everything went smoothly!
Up until this point, I would have given 4 stars since they let me use a loaner and were very apologetic with the lack of follow up. I wasn't mad about the delay - I was upset no one told me about it and I had to be the one to call.
Fast forward to 8/28/19 and I get a call from Mimi about $1,100 remaining balance. I told her per our conversation in May when I made my second payment, she told me everything had been taken care of. She told me she would look into it.
I didn't get another call until 9/16/19. I figured they had remedied the situation. Long story short, she sent invoices that show the remaining balance owed. We'll pay but it is just really upsetting about the incompetence. We were told the balance was taken care of and have made financial decisions these past 4 months without taking into account we still owe $1100.
At 35 weeks pregnant, this whole experience has been very stressful. This was our first time buying quality furniture. I thought the customer service would have been better.
We had an upstairs loft we were excited to furnish with a leather couch and recliner so my husband could have his football room (lol). After this experience, we will be...

Unfortunately, not for this locationâs staff. Poor communication, lack of promised and expected communication, and months of additional and delayed delivery time accompanied by the aforementioned issue. Finally, it came time for delivery, about 8 months later. It became an even worse experience when the two delivery people left our couch at the end of our driveway, 50 yards away from our rural home, outside of our driveway gate. We requested them to help carry it up (the delivery truck was too large for our driveway and turn-around), but they refused and left. This is another issue that could have been addressed prior to delivery, or simply corrected with good customer service. We struggled, but my girlfriend and I managed to get it into the house, eventually. A manger at this La-Z-boy location waved the delivery fee (I decided that was non-negotiable) since they failed miserably there as well. We will never purchase from this location again. By the way, we paid an additional fee to have this custom, cloth-covered couch âscotch guardedâ, but when we inquired with a manager where the paperwork mentioned the treatment, we were told that there was no paperwork that indicated whether or not it had actually been done. Additionally, the couch exhibits a âpopping soundâ when sat in on one end. It was a construction issue that I resolved myself, since we both believed that dealing with this company at the Ina Road Tucson location was the less desirable route to attempt. When I spoke with a manager there, she assured me that the salesman we dealt with would be dealt with, and then asked me if there was anything else that I wanted. I assured her that there was not. I recommend avoiding this store location, and possibly this company. 2025 update: The custom fabric of the sofa we purchased 3 years ago is wearing poorly in places, like the edge of the electric ottoman (see photo). So this 1-âïž review remains equitable as it pertains to product quality as well. Good information if you want a sofa from them with...
Read moreI have lived in Marana since 2000. Over the years have purchased a living room couch and loveseat, three lazy boy chairs from this store and a custom oversized chair. My last purchase was the living room set in 2015.
We wanted a new recliner and went over July 4rth holiday to look. I wrote prices down and took photos on 7 chairs and asked sales person to give me a price on a oversized lazyboy and he said sale price was 1429 good until Monday.
We went back on Labor day to purchase the chair. The original price had gone up 500 dollars and now was on sale. We noticed all of the chairs we looked at they had marked the original prices up substantially and then said they were on sale at 25% off.
What this means is customers are paying more than originally priced normally. We asked the salesperson why?
Was told they had a price increase and they were bought out by corporate. So you mark the everyday price up and call itâs sale? She literally repeated what she said again.
I will never shop a Lazy Boy Store again. This is just deceptive sales practice.
We found the exact same chair at Wayfair 900 less than their sale price and showed the manager she said, buy it! We have to pay for storefront...
