Iāve been going to Toni and Guy for a decade now- starting at Sam Hughes when I was in college. I never had any issues until I started going to the La Encantada salon. Although Samuel does a great haircut, my other experiences have been pretty bad.
I came in to get strawberry blonde hair from Nikole and it turned out nothing like the reference. The salon called me after my appointment offering to fix it for a discounted price, which was really nice. However, Nikole called out sick the day of my appointment! They had to squeeze me in with Amanda- who did a good job. I was LUCKY they were able to find another stylist in short notice because I had to take time off work for this appointment.
I scheduled a root touch up and gloss to maintain the color Amanda gave me, but unfortunately had to schedule again with Nikole due to my schedule. Well she called out again the morning of my appointment! Again, I had taken the time off work for this so it was very frustrating.
Toni and Guy offered to call the Sam Hughes location to see if someone could get me in that day since Nikole called out and sheās the only colorist on Mondays, and LUCKILY again I was able to get an appointment. However, when they transferred the appointment- they put in the wrong appointment information. LUCKILY I called the Sam Hughes location to confirm and I was able to straighten it out but only at the grace of Yasmeen who fit me in between appointments.
I recently called the La Encantada location and was placed on hold. No one came back on the line in 20 minutes. I called back and the same person answered in a few rings like nothing happened.
The techs who wash hair at La Encantada leave my shirt soaked each time. I had a huge bleach stain covering my entire back from the water/bleach. It soaked through the cape and two of my shirts.
Not sure whatās going on with this location. I expect higher quality given the location, but Iāve been nothing but disappointed. Iāll be taking my business to the Sam Hughes location- itās worth the drive given they are much more consistent. Yasmeen and Jarret are great stylists...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWell first of all, if you are a potential client of Toni & Guy, donāt even think about booking an appointment without reading this review in its entirety. I have never been more disappointed with a salon, and I have been getting highlights and balayage annually/semiannually for 6 years. I came into this hair salon last weekend getting highlights. I was surprised when my foils only developed for 30 minutes, considering usually it takes an hour plus to develop the color. After the rinse when the stylist was brushing my hair out, FLAKES OF MY HAIR began to fall out. Iām talking tufts of white, wiry bleach-fried hair. And my hair was orange- like orange. I was so upset especially since my hair was ruined for my graduation pics scheduled for the next day. The stylist denied making a mistake and the salon even had the audacity to ask me to pay full price even though my hair was fried and orange. A male stylist went to the back to ācall his managerā when I refused to pay full price for the service that left me with completely damaged and wild colored hair. He went on to pretend like he was calling the manager in the back and came out and said, āsorry its store policy you have to pay.ā When I asked to talk to this āmanagerā he refused; clearly, he wasnāt on the phone with anyone back there because I saw him peeping through the door at me. In a couple days I washed my hair and it continued to flake and break away, and it is now a frizzy mess that I will have to go have fixed/treated elsewhere. Clearly there is a lack of quality control for the concoctions of chemicals they are using on clients, and the customer service and desire to make the situation right was completely absent. If the staff had shown genuine remorse for making the mistake I would not be writing this review. I have attached pictures of what I asked for and what it looked like after for your reference. My hair was light brunette before. Supercuts could have done a better job for a fraction...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was hesitant at first because the stylist I requested and was scheduled with didn't work there anymore and they changed me to someone else and I didn't know until I called to reschedule. So I was a little upset about it. However I was able to change my appointment to a week early with no issues and I added my daughter to the schedule last minute and they fit her in. I was shocked! Then when I got there I was greeted with smiles and an awesome groups of ladies who took awesome care of me and my daughter even my daughter that didn't get anything done and just sat there on her tablet. My daughter saw Emily who listened to all of our concerns and took amazing care of my daughter and went over all the after care recommendations for her. In the meantime I saw Alyssa who colored my hair and she was beyond amazing and went over every option with me and even brought over Michelle (the stylist who would be cutting my hair) to go over the best options and she made a big cut right then and there to help Alyssa know how much to highlight! Then after all of that was said and done I sat in Michelle's chair and I can't tell you enough how great of an experience and patient she was working me and my little ones. She even had the lady who did my highlights come back over to address my concerns and they did. Michelle then after she had finished... Went back through because I felt I needed more. She brought out pictures and cut half and had me take a look before she finished. Even the lady at the front desk. And forgive me for forgetting her name) she was beyond great and patient with me. It was an amazing experience and let's just say they just gained a client or 2 for life!! They took great care of us from start to finish. I would say in the future they should make sure they call and inform clients if there is a change with stylists and making sure the client knows what level stylist they have so they have a better idea what they...
