An aesthetic, small coffee shop with decent service and drinks at La Encantada. A new creation from Tucsonâs own gelato company, Frost has opened this quaint cafe right next door. Itâs quite small but packs design elements that caught my eye.
We were acknowledged when we came in and decided to order a chai latte with oat milk and a decaf latte. They also have a variety of tea options, which I appreciated, though there wasnât much variety in pastries at the time of our visit. What caught my attention were the prices, as they seemed quite appropriate and not as expensive unlike virtually any other cafe in the area.
We were told that the chai latte is made with just a bit of gelato, which I thought was quite interesting and made me excited to try it. However, when I took a sip, it was a bit underwhelmingâI could taste a hint of vanilla (probably from the gelato), but it wasnât anything special (7/10). The latte was the better of our drinks but also nothing special.
A downside of this cafe is the lack of indoor seating. There were only a handful of tables outside, so it felt more like a takeaway cafe than a traditional coffee shop. The service was decent for the most part, but overall a bit muted. After all the hype around Tucsonâs latest cafe, the entire experience felt slightly underwhelming, though I did appreciate the aesthetic of the cafe and the appropriate pricing of...
Read moreOn the fence here because it could be so much more. If youâre looking for a sit down work space type coffee shop this is not it. While it still offers a cool vibe this location is more outside than in. Itâs located inside of a mall and only offers a few outdoor tables and a walk up counter to order. Vibe is great and the wood type decor surrounding it looks awesome. Drinks offered are pretty basic, you wonât find a huge menu here. I opted for an Americano because they offer no cold brew. I added a small bit of cream and vanilla. I was bummed when told they donât offer even sugar free vanillaâŠsay what? My daughter got a vanilla chai iced and my son a lemonade because they donât do blended drinks either. My Americano was good, but a bit too much cream and wished it had a tad more vanilla. The chai was perfect as well as the lemonade. The fear with lemonade is sometimes it can be so sour and undrinkable. My sonâs only complaint was it had so much ice. Service was ok. Iâd come back, but hopeful for a few more options in the sf department. If youâre looking for a pick me up while shopping this place works. Did I mention the cute little...
