BEWARE ordering anything custom from this store/company! This store/company has a complete lack of integrity and does not practice due diligence in making sure that they are delivering what you ordered. If they screw up they DO NOT stand by their product/work and make it right. Their satisfaction guarantee is nothing more than empty marketing.
In October of 2024 I needed to replace an external door in my home. I ordered a custom door from Home Depot. During the ordering process we discussed extensively that I wanted the active panel, the one I open to go out, to be on the left side. All was verified and purchased. They informed me my door had arrived and scheduled installation. When the installer got ready to start installation, he informed me that the door they had delivered was in fact too large. When the door arrived at the store in Nov. no one had bothered to verify that it is was in fact the correct sized door. This meant an extensive delay in getting my new door.
Another door was ordered. In the mean time the installer kept telling Home Depot that they were ordering the wrong style of door because he had decided I wanted to replace the door with the same style that had been in there previously. This created a great deal of confusion.
In Jan the second door finally arrived. It was scheduled for install. Dale, the gentleman I worked with to order the door, called and said he had been asked to verify that I wanted a "left handed door". He was using the term "left handed" not in common vernacular but rather in contractor language, which, after much research I have discovered means that the active panel is on the right side. Believing that I was confirming that I wanted a door with the active panal on the left side, I said yes. The installer arrived tore out my old door, which broke into pieces in the process, and installed my new door.
This door had an active panel on the right side. The FIRST time I got to see and approve whether this was in fact the door I had ordered, was when I was in a position to either accept it as is (not what I ordered) or have a giant hole in my home in the middle of below freezing weather.
When I contacted the Home Depot to fix the problem their solution was to give me $200 off. They claimed that on multiple occasions I approved the door. The claimed that by verifying that a "left handed" door, using contractor language, was what I wanted, that I was accepting what they had ordered. I did tell them multiple times that I wanted a French door. At no time did I approve the configuration of the door they delivered. Had it been made clear to me that this has an active panel in the right side I NEVER works have approved it as it was not the door I ordered or the door I wanted. At no time was I given the opportunity to look at and approve what they delivered to me until it was already installed in my home.
They are unwilling to take any responsibility for not checking the measurements for the first door and immediately reordering the correct size thus limiting the delay in getting the correct size. They were unwilling to accept any responsibility for using language that was unclear and communicated the exact opposite of what it sounded like. My very strong suspicion is they ordered the wrong door again the second time. Rebecca's fix was to instruct Dale to call me and verify in unclear and confusing terms if did in fact want a "left handed door", with no further clarification or explaination of that question, so that they could later claim that I had approved the configuration of what they had mistakenly ordered. They just wanted something they could put in their notes to cover the latest mistake. I can't return the door. Custom orders are non-refundable. It's not the door I ordered or wanted. All I get for this is placation and...
Read moreWould be five stars, IF NOT FOR THE TERRIBLE DELIVERY CREW I purchased four appliances from Home Depot. In my household we are very capable, but EXTREMELY busy, so I paid for them to deliver and install all appliances (range, refrigerator, dishwasher & stand-up freezer). Up until this transaction, I have always loved dealing with Home Depot (Osage Beach). The people working in their store have always been very helpful and lovely to deal with (plus, you can always find an employee to help!)... I ordered my appliances back in November, and was given an initial delivery date of January 8th. One appliance was back ordered, and my delivery date was pushed to January 22nd. Then, I got a call that they could move that to January 17th (awesome, and Yes, please!). When it came to the delivery of these appliances, I was stood up once. This was due to winter precip on my drive (which I totally understood, and hadn't even thought of because we all have four wheel drive), BUT the driver did not knock on my door or call to tell me what was going on. They just pulled up, took a pic and left. Wouldn't answer my calls to explain, so I text; then got snarky, rude texts from him. I called the Home Depot online team to reschedule, and told them to NOT send that crew back to my house. EVER. Today (1/22/25), that same crew was sent back to my house to deliver and INSTALL all appliances. 1.) They would not install my dishwasher, due to a Home Depot/insurance policy... okay, we'll install it. 2.) My range was plugged in, and pushed into the hole. They did not anchor or even level it. 3.) My freezer was to go in the garage, and I also paid extra for them to move my old refrigerator into the garage, beside it. Neither one even got plugged in! Or leveled. I had to pull my new freezer back out to get to the plugs, and we had to level them as well. 4.) The new fridge was connected to the water line and plugged in, but rolled about 6" away from the wall and out into a heavy-traffic walkway in my kitchen. He said he was done and leaving. So I said, "Aren't you going to level that up, at least?" To which he told me that my old fridge had feet, but this one was on wheels and that's just how it is. Then, they left without even installing the handles on the exterior of it! We had to take the front bottom panel off, push it in where it belongs, find the stop-foot (Ă2) and level it ourselves. So, I spent the rest of my afternoon doing all of these little things that should have been done during installation. Oh, and picking up trash that was left throughout my driveway.
Moral of the story? Until/unless the Osage Beach Home Depot started contracting someone different to do their deliveries and installations, I would save the money, and most definitely not "utilize" (I use that term extremely loosely) their "installation" services for appliances.
I hope this saves someone from going through all of this that I dealt with (on top of multiple days...
Read morePurchased multiple appliances recently from this store. Big mistake. I'd advise you to head to Lowe's or Menards. They both offer price matching and beats dealing with what I had to go through buying appliances here. First purchase on a new fridge spent an extra 15 minutes arguing during the purchase time, as the sales person wanted us to write down step by step instructions on how to get to our house. I brought up the fact that they can use Google or any number of map apps to get here, (we don't live rurally, so it's not like that was an issue) that I was on a time crunch, and she said, "yes, but I still like to give them exact directions by hand." Then refused to move on or help us till we completed her survey of handwritten notes. This should've been my first clue to avoid doing business here. (Also, when I asked the delivery driver later, never even made it to him...Surprise, they just Googled directions.) Installation for the fridge went smooth and I chocked it up to one bad interaction in-store. Went back and ordered a washer and dryer. The man who helped us this time wouldn't stop talking about the previous purchase we made on the fridge, combined with now buying a new washer and dryer. Kept asking what my wife and I did for a living, how we could afford it, he was shocked we spent 'x' in such a short period and was asking about my pay/her pay and where exactly I worked/whether that was common for someone in my field. It was uncomfortable and showed me the larger issue here stems from its sales team and a lack of training on etiquette and sales. I don't want to feel bad spending money, especially for large purchases, or feel like it's a chore to shop for new things because I'm going to get grilled in some way. The final straw was during the delivery of the washer and dryer it was hooked up incorrectly. Spent another thirty minutes fixing it. Would've been easier and faster to just have had them dropped off and installed correctly myself. I ended up doing that anyway. If you don't want a hassle from start to finish, go elsewhere. Buying here ate up a lot of time and caused unneeded frustration. The easiest interaction and least time wasting experience I've had at this home depot was writing this review. Hopefully this saves someone else a headache and they go elsewhere and can enjoy their...
