We had originally planned to go to Tucker Shuckers but when we got there we realized it was pub crawl this weekend and there was at least an hour's wait so we went to Outback as a second option. They were also quite busy when we first got there but we must have arrived at the end of it and we were seated and drink orders were addressed relatively quickly. Our server was a young man named either Jacob or Chris. It was my birthday and so I wanted something special. Unfortunately for me, the items I ordered must have been popular that evening and Jacob / Chris had to return to the table more than once to apologetically inform me they were out of what I ordered. It was no big deal as they were other good options to choose from. When he came back to inform me they were even out of the dessert I had ordered as a special treat for my birthday I pretended to be seriously disappointed. I told him to just give me whatever they randomly had left for dessert and to box it up to go. He the kitchen staff must have felt really bad about it all so they gave me samples of some of their other desert offerings packaged for me to take home and it was all very good. Our server even made sure my birthday was acknowledged by bringing me ice cream adorned with lighted candles and he and my children sang me the worst (yet somehow also the best) version of "Happy Birthday" I've ever received before we left the restaurant. Overall, we had a nice meal, but I have to say that our server made the whole experience a really fun and memorable one because he was able to bounce back from my feigned outrage in perfect and hilarious ways. By the time we left we all liked the guy so much we invited him come over to our house for breakfast the next morning. LOL. Overall we all had a very good time. Not giving out a perfect five stars only because my first choices were not available. I definitely want to give a shout out to our server Jacob/ Chris (or whatever your real name is đ). Thank you very much for doing everything you could to make sure I had a nice birthday....
Read moreVisiting town for a work conference. Decided on Outback because I wanted a steak but didn't want a super dressy place. We ordered a blooming onion, which was good, although nothing special. Our food took about 15-20 minutes, which no hurry for us so that was ok. I had an 11 oz steak with grilled shrimp, a side salad and a baked potato for $23. The baked potato was small and not warm. My steak was good but again, nothing to brag about. My side salad tasted like it wasn't fresh and was pretty wilted, didn't eat much of it. My husband ordered a pasta that came with shrimp and steak pieces on it, for about $20. His shrimp was cold as was the pasta. The steak was tough, cold and tasted sour. I tried a piece and literally couldn't swallow the whole piece as it tasted rancid. I noticed it smelled bad and had a grey color to it (after nibbling on a piece). The waitress (who was the best part of our entire experience!) stopped by to check on us. Although we didn't want to complain, she noticed immediately we didn't seem eager to eat. She brought the manager over (although we told her it was fine) and we explained what happened. He apologized and took the steak pieces to the kitchen to show them. My husband was too afraid to eat the pasta (which the steak had been mixed in) so we asked for the check and decided not to finish our meals. The manager took half of the price of his meal off (although we said it wasn't necessary). Probably won't be visiting another Outback anytime soon. Waste of about $65 (which included our tip which our waitress deserved the 20% we left). Overall, the manager and our waitress were great and offered to replace my husband's meal, but his stomach was churned from the meal and he didn't want anything to eat at that point. I think they need to look at their cooking practices, as sadly, I don't think they were safely preparing the food. Honestly probably how people get food poisoning. Our waitress was amazing though and we didn't think she deserved to miss out on a tip for the food issues. In Lake of The...
Read moreDonât waste your time and money at this Outback. It is a Zero. The staff is untrained and discourteous. We are regular, long-term Outback customers and appreciate the outstanding customer care at other sites around the country. This Osage Beach, MO store does not come close to Outback standards
First, the hostess (in training) backed into my wife who was holding a baby wrenching her back and nearly causing her to drop the baby. My wife calmly instructed the hostess to be careful when making sudden changes in direction in front of customers for best safety practices; and that I see youâre in training and just learning. So this is a good learning opportunity. Next, the server when we asked for Celiac safe prep, which all other Outbacks graciously accommodate, the server said I think I might know what that means??? Then Two requests for water went unfulfilled but the server did take our food order. The âmanagerâ then appeared at the table and informed us that we had to leave because her hostess is crying in the back because my wife was too forceful with her and she backs her staff first and foremost and refused to listen to what actually occurred. Then she outright lied, saying I was also too forceful when I never said a word during the entire episode. This âmanagerâ screamed at my wife, right up in her face, all the way out the door, then spun around without looking. I was following behind with my 6 year old grandson. Had I not put my arm out to block her, she would have slammed into him and bowled him over. She continued to blast on by us without any awareness of...
