I'm not one to write reviews, but I read and rely on them frequently and wish I had read something that could've guided me away from my most recent jcpenney experience. About a month ago I ordered blinds for my whole house (10 Windows) I was helped by the store manager of the Oswego store who was completely wonderful and helpful and is the only reason I'm giving this review any stars. My problems started after the blinds arrived. I was told within 48 hours of receiving my blind I would get a phone call from the installers to schedule the installation of the blinds. Well after 48 hours of no phone call I called the store and spoke to the sales person in the blinds department. She told me the information I'd been given about the installation process was incorrect and I was suppose to call as soon as the blinds came in order to set up my installation appointment. Well she took down my information and said now the installers would contact me within another 48 hours to schedule the installation. A weekend went by and I called jcpenney back AGAIN stating I've still reviewed no installation appointment (at this point it has been 2 weeks since I've received my blinds) I spoke with the store manager at this point who again was very helpful and understanding of my frustration. After getting off the phone with her the installers contacted me within 30 minutes. They had no openings for installation that worked with my working schedule until a week later. They couldn't tell me the time of the appointment at that time (I'd be contacted later in the week and informed on the time the installer would get to my house) oh and I also would need to take all the blinds out of the box and set them up infront of the correct window (isn't that doing half their job?) well later in the week past with no phone call confirming the time of the scheduled appointment. Installation day arrived and I received a phone call from the woman who would be doing the install. She told me she would be at my house within the hour to install the blinds... Well I was at work and had no way to get home within the hour. She told me I'd have to reschedule and she'd let her employer know and they'd contact me the next business day (which is now today). This whole experience with the installers has been a complete joke. If your considering getting blinds from penneys I'd plan on installing them yourself. Wish I could go back and order elsewhere. Read moreWow!I had the best experience at this store! It was my first time there, I went to get a haircut in their hair salon. The salon is beautiful and they did a great job cutting my hair! They have all the brand name hair products and Toni did an exceptional job cutting my hair and husbands hair. I am also beyond impressed with the customer service and cleanliness of this store. Everything is immaculate a this store and it is the nicest JC Penney that I have gone to. Since it was my first time at this store, I interacted with three employees, all three were phenomenal! One person helped me with price items and how you can also download the app and use the price scanner in the App. Love it! One employee helped me find the salon and took the time to walk me there! And their sales and promotions were so amazing, I ended buying great items and even opened a store credit card for additional discounts. Read moreI went with a friend to do an even exchange for a broken present that was received for Christmas. The item was purchased in another state for a gift and unfortunately no gift receipt was given with it. This location would not do an even exchange for a broken item. Even though another location would have done it no problem, they just didn't have a replacement in stock.. the associate, I believe named Zara or Star or something said the other store lied to us and there was no way to exchange without a receipt. This location is not helpful and they seem to have almost nothing in stock. This was horrible customer service. Thank goodness for the other location that was so kind and helped us with the issue.
