I have always shied away from bad reviews. Sometimes I just think that it was me, and so, I don't. However. This time, after thinking about it for a few days, here I am. On Friday, 12/6, I place an order for pickup on Sunday 12/8 @5:30PM. It was to celebrate my wife's birthday! I have been a customer of Cooper's for years. It was their St. Charles location. They were great. As well, it is a special occasion spot because, well, it can end up being a bit pricey. Not a knock on them really, just the way I feel. One of the biggest benefits is that, from my front door to theirs, it's a 3 minute drive! Should make it perfect for getting it home HOT!!! I arrived at about 5:20. Took them a couple minutes to find the order. She went back and checked, came back and suggested it would be a couple minutes. No worries. A bit later, a gentleman named Eric arrived and she did the same for him. Came back and said a few minutes. It seemed to be taking a little longer than that. She went back again and when she came back, again, just a few more minutes.
A young man then did arrive with 2 bags. 1 for me, and 1 for Eric. I gratefully looked at the tag on the bag, saw my name, and headed out. Interestingly, Eric had followed my out with his bag. While I was getting ready to leave, I noticed him reviewing the order and honestly looking a bit confused. I thought nothing of it. I drove back home. Parked the car, and hustled back inside. Looking in the bag then, things just didn't look right.
I'll be darned. I had Eric's food (all good choices by the way) and so. I packed it back up and headed back to CH, bag in hand. Eric was still there, and when I walked in, he said, "yeah, they seemed to have messed us up". I agreed. The young lady at the desk apologized, and said that they would make it right, and took Eric's food back towards the kitchen.
Probably 7-8 minutes later, she came out with a bag, and as we checked it, there was now only 1 entree and the 2 desserts from the original order. We discussed, and back the bag went. (Eric was still waiting...) When she came back from the drop off, she had a card in hand for A complimentary entree, glass of wine, and dessert in hand to make it right. Thank you!
A while later, the young man came up with the bag, and we checked it and all was as it should have been. Yippie!
I got home. Unpacked it all, and sat down to enjoy it. I have to tell you at this point, it was all a little weird. I have attached pictures.
Note the difference in presentation. Vegetables on 1 plate, but, not on the other. The flatness of 1 potato and the normal presentation of the other. On the 1 with veg, the medallions were cooked very rare (didn't even know that was an option), and were quite cool, as were the potatoes, the vegetables AND the Lobster/Crab tail. Makes me think that it was the initial order, and it wasn't even dropped on the grill for a warm up. The other plate. The medallions were very much OVER COOKED. The potatoes were weirdly flatter almost cold. I did think maybe they were initially prepared like that and they do some kitchen magic to make them warm before they put them on the plate? I just don't know. And lastly, the Lobster/Crab tail was as well, pretty cold.
Really. It was so very disappointing. The whole thing, counting wine, tip and all, was $136.00. Wine-wise, I had joined the club as a gift for my wife, as she drinks the wine in our family. So there was a discount on the wine as well as a discount for the carryout.
I'm certain it was just a bad night. Maybe a moon thing? I don't know. But. I also don't know that I will keep the membership either. My wife and I are still discussing. Thanks for listening.
Peace...
P.S. - Note no butter served with either. No lemon as well. And if you look at the Winter Truffle Crust, just seems not as fresh,...
Read moreIf I could I wouldn’t give even 1 star. Me and my husband were happy at the beginning that something opened up near our house, but there are few things that made us completely disappointed: They took out so quick some of the appetizers that at first tasted so good. Lazy incompetent hostess: they asked us to wait over 15 min knowing that they definitely had a lot of free tables not being reserved at all, but they are just lazy to clean it up or idk what the other reason was. Incompetent waitress: not attentive at all at what guests prefer, order. They don’t even ask about guests preference and here let’s mention the food first- they don’t ask how do you like the meat cooked, I asked for water with lemon, they bring just water, they don’t ask if maybe we still want more bread with butter. Even Texas Road House, Long Horn is asking for that. Nobody cares about guest comfort: I want to enjoy my food not to freeze of cold in there. If its like that, put a note about bringing a blanket or something. Nobody did nothing about that even if we asked 3 times to please fix a little bit the air conditioner. Timing: since when I have to wait 55 min for a burger? Why nobody asked if I want more lemonade? Why nobody approached our table? Why we were forgotten? Who created this menu? Just one of few dishes can taste good, the rest is a total nonsense, no taste at all. Why my burger was wet as the bread was in water, why the meat there was raw? Why the waitress forgot to bring our dishes on time as we were able to see how the plates stayed under the lamp? But she attended guests that arrived after us very quickly. Some lady and the manager Jamy if I’m right, deeply apologized and asked if we want other food? Like who gonna wait other 55 min after a long working day? How is going to help me that you are giving me a card with some free wine taste… I came to eat and enjoy the ambience, not to drink wine on empty stomach. How is going to help me that you are not letting me pay for the food that we didn’t eat? I like to reward what is getting done for me, but not in this case. Are these ppl licensed? Are they having some sort of experience in the restaurant business? Or everyone is hiring now for cheap salary? Me and my husband always leave good tips even if we don’t like a thing or 2, we know to appreciate everything little thing, attention to details and more without writing a review like this. We entered the third time in there and already the cheap wine at the entrance made everything: a lot of drunk ppl at the bar even women. From what I see, from what you offer… exactly that you are getting back. In conclusion unfortunately this restaurant will terrible downgrade and almost everything needs a change plus is sad that everything became like...
Read moreI’m very disappointed at the experience that my husband and I received yesterday. The wait time for drinks was over 20 minutes. We never received the pretzel bread we ordered even though the server was the one that recommended it. The appetizers came out 30 minutes after we placed the order. Once we were done with our appetizers, the plates were never removed during our whole dinner experience. The food arrived and still, no one bothered to remove the appetizer plate or the plates we use for our appetizer. The server that brought our entrées to the Was maneuvering on our small table top where to place the food. The funny thing was that even after he placed the food on our table, he didn’t remove the appetizer nor the small plates. We kept moving things around to make room for our drinks and our entree. The food was extremely greasy. I ordered the Chicken Francese but it was nothing like the image on their website. The sauce had pools of oil and the chicken had nothing on top just the breading and was also very greasy. My husband ordered the braised short ribs and he said the ribs was the only good thing on his plate. The food was also very greasy and the potatoes had no flavor. You could also see the pools of oil in his sauce. We ordered dessert and when the dessert was brought to the table, there was no silverware. Our server came to our table and asked us if we wanted to order dessert and I pointed at the dessert and then he noticed we had no spoons. Another server came to the table with a handful of forks and knives. She asked us to pull out a fork and knife from her hand since she was having trouble placing them on our table. We could have mentioned that we needed a spoon for the pastry puff with ice cream but we just wanted the dinner to end after being there for two hours. I wish I had taken a picture of the dessert because it looked more was more like a pastry puff in a cream sauce. After dessert, I went to the restroom. I walked to the end of the bar and asked the server where the restroom was, and she turned around and completely ignored me. There was a gentleman that I believe might have been the manager or Assistant manager that saw what had just happened and said he would show me where the restroom was. Let me point out that he was a little over 5 feet away from me, but he managed to hear me yet the young lady that was standing right next to me completely ignored me and walked away. I was extremely disappointed with the whole experience and if I’m gonna be spending $200 for dinner I would think the service would be better than what I received and definitely the food should be much better than it was. We had other tables next to us waiting 20 minutes for menus, had no silverware and also waited long periods of...
