Dosbros Fresh Mexican Grill & Catering - Aurora — Restaurant in Oswego Township

Came here for the first time today because of several rave reviews on a local Facebook page. The reason why I'm posting this review is because of 2 things I noticed that were enough to make me not want to go back.

1- They were overly generous with the rice in all 4 of the bowls we ordered and extremely skimpy on the meat. He gave us 3 giant (huge) scoops of rice, then took less than half a scoop of meat and after seeing it wasn't much grabbed another 1/4 scoop and barely sprinkled a couple shreds of it and moved on. We ended up paying for double meat on one of the bowls because of this. I didn't say anything there because I saw it was intentional from the person making them, but when I brought the food home to my family they were confused about why there was no meat and asked me why/where did I get this food from. I would be curious if this happens often.

2 - the lettuce looked wilty and unfresh. When I we got to that part while making my food I said: I'd like lettuce but do you have anything fresher than that? It looks wilty and brown. He took a handful and put it on there anyway. I again said: I was asking if you have any better lettuce than that? Are you just going to ignore that? I guess you just don't, then? And he smiled and said no, and I said oh ok but you are just going to put it on all of them anyway. I shrugged and just gave in.

Other than that, the food was decent hence the few stars I rated. I think if I had a more positive experience there with the staff making my food, I probably would've gone back...

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE. Look at your reviews over the last month, of the 20 5 are 1 star all saying similar stuff. I have no problem paying for quality food but your prices far exceeded the quality of your dried up crumble steak jerky tacos. Thanks for admitting you do not make fresh food :) You make it in the morning and it sits all day in heaters drying it out with every passing minute. My wife just ate fresh tacos today to make up for eating there. They were made fresh while we waited not sitting around in some metal heating bucket waiting for your next victim. Your food might be decent fresh but I wouldn't know and will never find out so maybe you should change your cooking habits before more of me become the normal and the honeymoon phase ends for DosBros. We still think it was day old food you served us but your future success will tell you about your quality. Maybe this makes you make some changes because if it doesn't I see you turning into NOBros :) ORIGINAL.... Let me start by saying I don't leave many reviews but this was trash, 3 taco combo $18 to start. 3 small taco's with flavorless chips. Not Mexican food by any means. Clearly the food is not made fresh. Steak was like beef jerky crumbles of dried up meat. Overcooked and I'd question if it was yesterdays meat reheated. This was our second time at this gem. As an update, this time I had a vegy burrito. It was HUMUNGUS! Got all the toppings and it was well worth every cent. It was on the shorter side but it was the fatest burrito I've had in my over half a century of life. There was a generous amount of everything i requested. Again I must stress how spotless the place is. I also have to again stress how very fresh each and every bite was. Each bite was full of good clean, fresh flavor. The staff is incredible! They were truly customer oriented. Friendly from the moment you walk in. After we sat down they came out to make sure we thoroughly enjoyed our food. They asked if there was anything else we needed. No, this is not your run of the mill fast food. This is fast food that makes your stomach happy and full and the kind of service that makes you feel pampered. I do need to say if you are a light eater you will probably not see the value of this place. However if you enjoy toppings like a choice of protein, fresh corn, tomatoes, lettuce, and cilantro as well as beans that are not refried and a choice of rice and love to have a choice of sauces, this definitly is the place for you!
