Hillcrest Thrift Store — Local services in Overland Park

This has been my go-to thrift store for a couple of years now. The store is organized, and the employees are always super nice! They have a large selection of denim for women, kids, and men. They also have a large selection of clothing in general that is not beat up or beyond repair. However... I stopped by last night after a few months of not visiting this store, and I was shocked to see the prices on nearly everything seemed like they had been raised a significant amount. Maybe I came on a bad day and just the higher priced items were left over, but I doubt it.

I understand that the cost of everything has increased rapidly over the last year, but please consider that thrift store shoppers are not usually people who are rich. I saw an air popcorn popper being sold for $20, which is basically the price of a new one. I will say- electronics at this store seem to be tested well, unlike other places. Hillcrest Thrift Store deserves 5 start as they have a very clean store, an ample variety of merchandise and kind, helpful staff. They loose two stars for pretending to be a caring religious organization with a mission to help those in need. People bring their items and give them for free and Hillcrest eagerly takes them and prices them far outside the reach of those in need. Today I visited and found multiple items priced above retail.
