I am a tall, slender fit...and I'm a regular customer as well as a cardholder for Mens Wearhouse... K&G IS in fact, an outlet store; but the customer service definitely shows. Me and a few of my buddies went in to simply pick out a few suits; and compared to mens wearhouse, things were completely unorganized. We simply wanted to compare suits, but some suits were up by the front door, some were in the very back of the store. The Secret Shoppers, or "Asset Protection" employees, the ones who follow you around and appear to be looking at clothes; were MORE than obvious. I understand there IS people who steal out there, but when I had a salesman with me constantly and was constantly comparing styles and ties and shirts on the layout table, its obvious I was prepared to spend quite a bit, and was in no position to steal....however they followed me and my girlfriend around for pretty much the full two hours I was there, and were more than obvious. They looked at pretty much everything, and never picked up one single item. I was a bit insulted, because they were following me around the whole time, but I couldn't keep a salesman with me to save my life. Their customer service could definitely use a touch-up...the salesman are with you one minute, and then gone the next. I guess I'm just used to Mens Wearhouse where they stick with you the entire time, from when you come into the door, until the register. K&G was very sloppy, they were unable to make a very simple alteration that night (they were open for another 3 hours), and I had to ask for a salesman repeatedly, and when I DID finally get one, they left me after pointing me into a general direction instead of helping me put together what I was there to purchase. I would take my business elsewhere next time. Their prices aren't bad, but unless you want the secret shoppers following you around more than the salesman do, then this is the place to go.
My advice to K&G would be to hire a few more salesman instead of having the store crawling with Asset Protection people. Also, it would be beneficial to have your salesman finish helping one customer instead of jumping between customers back and forth, back and forth. It takes twice as long to bounce back and forth, and having to keep measuring them and running all over the store trying to accommodate two customers at once, instead of just sticking with one and helping them start to finish, and THEN moving on to another customer. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
THE BRIGHT SIDE TO K&G: Great brands in dress shirts (button up shirts) with great prices; and a HUGE selection of ties...not too many name brands when it comes to ties, but they do have a huge selection at a reasonable price. K&G is good if you know exactly what your looking for, and can run in and out real quick. NOT a good place if you need measurements and detailed customer service.
My advice to customers; pay the little bit extra cash and go to Mens Wearhouse where they actually stick with you and take care of all your needs from start to finish, and don't run off on you every...
Read moreI’ve been coming to the store for over 15 years. I’ve purchased many suits throughout the years for myself and my three boys. As well as shirts, shoes, belts, and ties. not to mention getting all those suits tailored. A couple of weeks ago, I stopped by to buy a suit for a special event that I was having. One of the clerks there told me about a special they had going on for certain brands of suits, the special was buy one get one free. I picked up both suits after a couple hours of shopping, I had the Taylor mark them, I went to the counter. They rung me up because I had other items that I wanted to purchase as well. the cashier scanned Both of the suits and my other items. I told her that it was buy won’t get one free. To make things easier, I took a picture of the promotion Sign where it has the brands that are on special. The cashier called the manager, just to make sure everything was In line with the Promotion and that everything checked Out. After waiting for like five minutes for the Manager, she told me that one of the suits didn’t qualify for the promotion. I tried to reason with the manager because it was clearly The brands that were on special, So I went to grab the clerk that assisted me with choosing the suits, he told her that it was the Brand that was on special. You could tell that she was frustrated that she was wrong. After we prove to her that it was the brands on special so that I could get the promotion she still said it was not and the she was not gonna give me one free. her words were “it doesn’t matter anyways he’s getting two suits for $250”. It was so ridiculous because it was clearly the brands that were on special and everybody around her knew that, She just didn’t wanna admit that she Was wrong. My total bill was going to be around $500. I told him that I wasn’t gonna get anything at all and walked out of the Store, on my way home the cashier called me and Apologized for her manager. I told her I appreciate her call, but I wasn’t gonna go back to do business with that...
Read moreI should've done this a month or so ago! But I would like to give props to Tom(thomas) Matthews. It was the eve of my mother in laws funeral, and I had been to a different store and purchase a black shirt that I needed due to being a bearer (22 was needed, but theirs fit like a 17). Got home and the shirt was NO WHERE near the size I needed, and it's late in the evening 9 or 10-ish, and I'm EXTREMELY upset. I went to K&G because they were near me and "possibly" had what I was looking for................here's what happened! "Hello Tom, I need your help" (told him what happened and what I needed) with or with cuff-links would be fine! Went to where I'd typically get my size............NOTHING :( 35mins later........after looking EVERYWHERE......."hold on sir, it's possible that we may have some unboxed shirts in the back".............10mins later............NOTHING! Now I'm getting worried due to my role and possibly letting down my wife! So, I called her and explained what is going on, she replies, "well babe at least you have a matching tie" Tom eyes lights up, his response, "can I take control and give you some ideas (not exactly his word, but his actions), so let's just say, he worked his magic and I AM FOREVER thankful of him and his assistance! When someone has a heart to help, it shows! Mr. Matthews has EXACTLY that! If I had the money to personally tip him, then I would have! So WHOEVER from the company that monitors these reviews, Mr. Matthews NEEDS something, and MORE THAT A KUDOS! I've managed retail stores myself, SO PLEASE DO SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR HIM, SINCE HE DID SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR ME! Apologies Mr Matthews for the delayed review! P.S. He even told me that I had been buying the wrong size shirt as well smh! This guy is amazing, too bad I can only leave 5 starts, I would give him...
