I rarely am impacted enough to go as far as reviewing and establishment but this one I felt earned it. Yesterday was my first time shopping at Once Upon a Child. I am a first time mom and it came highly recommended by friends. My husband and I stopped in and I found their selection of clothes to be just what I had been looking for, I had been looking for onesies and sleepers that wouldnât break the bank being that babies outgrow things so quickly. I decided to take advantage of buy 10 for 10 on the onesies and picked up a few other clothing items. When it came to check out the girl was really sweet, she was probably the nicest person I encountered. While ringing us out I believe there were items she scanned twice as well as changing me full price for all the onesies. Imagine my shock when I quick drop in for onesies turned into a 69$ total. Not one to make a scene I grabbed my receipt and bag and headed home even though I knew something was wrong. After getting home I counted all my items 22 (10 were onesies) and counted 27 items on my receipt. I also noticed all the onesies rung up at full price. I was confused and slightly annoyed but didnât make a huge deal about I just decided to return some of the stuff and mention what I had discovered. Today I went in to return things and the lady who processed my return couldnât have been colder about it. There was no pride in the job itâs like I annoyed her to be there, it made me feel super uncomfortable. I mentioned to her the concerns I had about my purchase and she didnât even acknowledge it she just asked so what are we returning then? There was no apology for having been over charged for items and charged for items I didnât even purchase. Overall it was just a sad, disappointing experience and left a bad taste in my mouth. Will probably not be back. Never would have had issues paying a bit more if the attitude had been a little better would probably have just kept all the items had their been acknowledgment and empathy. My warning would be check...

Maybe they were upset because they had to work. Maybe they weren't wanting to buy the clothes I was selling. I am not sure what the cause, but these women were very rude. I tried to reason with myself on why they were giving me the worst customer service. I'm unsure. But whatever the reason, I will never return. Ever. I brought them 2 page bags of very nice, clean, gently worn, name brand item. They purchased 12 items. I told them they could have all the items, even the ones they did not purchase. I just didn't want to take them back home. In which the risky declined and pointed me in the direction of the donation bin in the back. Understandably they purchased my items, but a thank you for choosing us would have been appropriate. Let's face it, if people didn't sell their gently used items with these people, they wouldn't have a business. Needless to say, I will never do business at this place again. I didn't bring them junk. I did not bring them unclean items. They treated me as if my items weren't good enough. The fact that I had to sit in the store for 45 minutes as they picked over these items I once nice and neatly covered my babies in, agitated me. I wasn't even able to sit it in my car. Not to mention they have NO seating area for adults. Anyway this was my first and last consignment experience. So thanks to the old bitties for ruining my experience. I dare to blame the fact of the disrespectful interaction upon the color of my skin. Or the fact that I was wearing a beanie on my head. Maybe they were scared that me and my three hundred dollar beanie, was there to cause havoc. My intentions were to unclutter my home before the New Year. Next time I will just to a drop box somewhere in an under developed, deserving neighborhood, where clothes are needed and...
Read moreI saw a lot of bad reviews on this store and wanted to share my experience. First off, every employee I dealt with was friendly. One even offered to walk my totes to my car because I had my baby with me and would have had to take multiple awkward trips to the car. I was very thankful.
They didn't buy much from me but to be honest I took the clothes to another once upon a child first before coming here and I also knew a lot of the clothes I was bringing were older since a lot were hand me downs when my older kids were little. It isn't like I expect them to buy clothes they don't think will sell. I do think the quality of the clothes should matter more than the age of the clothes. One of my favorite things about shopping there is that my kids clothes aren't the same as what everyone else is wearing. So if someone has a good quality t shirt even if it is 10 years old I dont think people would mind that. So that is the reason for the 4 stars. I feel like I went through the clothes well before bringing them in and most were still in good condition that I wouldnt mind buying from a store. But they said they were too old.
I didn't hear anyone bad mouthing customers. I did think some of their clothing was expensive for what it was but I was also looking at fourth if July outfits. Still cheaper than getting it from a store and since it isn't the same new outfit that is at every new store right now it will probably be more unique when out and about with my baby on the fourth.
I also like that they hold your clothes for 2 days here and you dont have to pick up the same day. Our local store will quit taking drop offs if they get too many because they have to finish by the end of the day and you have to pick up hy the end of the same day. This store texts you when your items are ready and you have 2 days to...
