Clown show. This is the best description I can give you about our experience visiting this circus. My wife and I went into this location on Saturday morning at 8:50 AM on August 16th. We shopped and were noticed doing so by 3 different employees. We found the products for our cats joint health and I had a question about the ingredients in one of the products. I approached a dark haired gentleman and asked if the "hemp derived product" the label mentioned was basically the same as CBD for cats. We wanted Cosequin for joint health and a CBD like product for the discomfort our older cat has started to develop. The employee literally answered me by saying "I don't know. I don't take those things". No kidding! Good thing he clarified. I knew that was a snarky answer but having groceries in the car outside I had no time to entertain a comedian. My wife noted to me as I walked away the employee mumbled some other comment about "stupid people" or something to that effect. So I thought surely the vet clinic would be able to answer my question. I approached a group of employees in the vet clinic side, I say side because apparently they are very important there. I was told on this side of the store that they don't have anything to do with "the other side" and therefore could not answer my question except to note that no the product did not contain "THC". I never asked her that and thought that was very strange to say after telling me she wasn't allowed to talk about anything from the "other side". No kidding? Their is no THC in the cat medicine? As if that's what I was seeking for my cat. So I went back to the other side deciding to buy both products. We waited several minutes while 2 employees looked at us and did nothing for us standing obviously by the register. I then went and found an employee to get someone to ring me up and this person wearing black yoga pants and headphones and a black t shirt told me after rolling his eyes while taking off his giant ear phones that they are not open until 9. It was 8:55. I then approached the other side and asked if they would please ring up my items as the other side was apparently not open, even though they had noticed us shopping for 10 minutes and didn't even mention it. This person told me she could not under any circumstances ring up items from the non veterinary side. I understood and she directed me back to the other side. This was truly a huge waste of time and a huge mistake going there. I never have been let into a business that was not open and allowed to walk around and shop then to be told they weren't open after encountering several employees before the purchase attempt. In this economy I would not suggest this store. I have never been treated so rude by a group of employees anywhere. Save yourself the time and spend elsewhere, your business won't be appreciated there. We had what we wanted delivered by Amazon in less than 3 hours to our front door by the way that same day. Pro tip!...
Read moreWe use the pet hotel for five days for our two dogs a two year old and a five month old puppy. I went into the store to book the stay and was given a price. When picking up the dogs I was given a price of over one hundred more dollars. They apologized and discounted the stay but we still had to pay more than the original price. I was also called very early on the last day of the stay and told my older dog, that does not have a Banfield vet pet plan had worms. They wanted to take him over to the vet side and leave him all day till we got there and then charge us for the medicine. They said nothing about our puppy, that does have a Banfield pet plan, about having worms. If one dog has them the other normally would as well. We arrived home early that morning so I was able to pick them up and avoid the extra charge. I took my dog to his vet and he does NOT have worms. So I am not sure the motivation of this place. Was it to make more money for the other department thinking we would not be home for many more hours? Not sure but very unhappy. When my husband dropped our dogs off I had pre-done all the check in and have the shot recorded for our dog that goes to a different vet. My husband could not drop off the dogs when arriving because the communication is so poor. My older dog did have a Banfield plan ,as a puppy, so all of his shot records are still there along with our other puppy. We only need to prove two other shots from the other vet which I had printed off to take with drop off. My husband had to drive all the way home with the dogs to retrieve the Banfield shot records for the older dog because the employee could not get them for whatever reason that day. My husband was livid! It took so much time for this that we were unable to live on time for our trip and had to make other arrangements to leave later. All of that could have been avoided if it was done ahead of time like they said they did. This experience had been horrible form the beginning. The employee was nice and apologetic but that did not make up for all the other problems. Since I picked up the dogs early they were unable to bath them. I am glad I was able to see them without the bath. Yes they did smell but my puppy, which is a bulldog had dried poop all over her bottom and I had to pull it off and scrub her butt. Bulldogs have to have their butts cleaned after every poop or infection and other problems can occur because their tale can not lift for a clean poop. I Will not leave my dogs there ever again. Hope this helps others when searching for a place to put their...
Read moreDONT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE...... my new adopted small poodle mix had so much hair when I adopted her. I went to the groomer at petSmart in overland Park and told the groomer her hair is too long and I needed it short so I can comb it without hurting her she had curly hair. the Groomer said not to worry and I told her I will shop around the store and be back in 30 minutes to look at her throughout the window. I came back assuming they gave her a bath with a blow dry and will start cutting the hair. to my surprise my dog was almost done and she looked like a 13 pound RAT........ I almost fainted but her hair was already shaved nothing I can do I took my dog and cried for an hour in the car before I took her home. My husband could not believe that was a hair cut the body was almost bald and left little hair on the tail. I plan on writing my story on every media possible starting with my 1,459.00 friends on Facebook then twitter with pictures we took of my poor dog. I paid $70.00 dollars for my dog to look like a RAT. and I was charged extra for conditioning my dog. she shaved her before she gave her a bathe and a blow dry to soften her hair so the cut is not painful. How could a big company like PetSmart hire just anyone to cut dogs hair. LOOK AT YELP they have 2.5 RATING Shame on you....... I plan on calling their upper management in their...
