I've been to the OP location several times. A long time ago it was in Westport, but idk if that location was owned by the same people.
The dance floor is fantastic! The staff is very nice. The age range is "I turned 21 today" to, I'm guessing, early 80s.
I believe they teach line dances on Thursday and Friday in the very early evening.
There's always been a cover charge. I think it was $5 before 8pm and after 8 it goes to $10/person.
Everyone has fun. The first time we went there were a lot of line dances and they can take up the whole dance floor. If you know how to dance and want some space, show up early. You may have the whole floor to yourself.
As the night wears on more people decided they can dance. Many of these folks can, some can't and they're a hazard on the floor. I don't think I've stayed after 11, because by then, the floor is packed and those that really can't dance have had enough liquor that they're sure they can. They're sloppy dancers who will not apologize after they run into you.
Every night I've been, they've had a live band. Each time it's been pretty good! I'm certain they hire really attractive girls that dance, to entice others to get on the floor, but by 9 the floor has filled up. There's a box of sawdust or some sort of powder that allows everyone to move along the floor smoothly, but if you're in hard leather soled shoes/boots it can be slippery.
The libations seem to be priced about right. My gf says if she goes to the bar the male bartenders make her drinks a little stronger. I gotta take her word for that, because if I owned a bar, I'd instruct my bartenders to do the same. Single females need to be aware, for better or worse.
How important is it to know how to dance here? As far as I can tell, some folks are very good. One of the girls, I suspect of being an employee, has been lifted over a guys head, so her feet are close to the disco saddle. Lifts and throws are the realm of skilled dancers. I've seen that the last two times I've been. On the other end of the spectrum, you've got your drunks. Most are in the middle skills level having a great time. If you watch the feet, a lot of the dancers are nowhere near the beat, but they're still having fun. It's a fun place....
Read moreit used to be a fairly fun place getting way too crowded way too much line dancing and people can invent anything they consider dancing . almost got kicked in face twice from guys flipping girls upside down, they have no idea where their feet are going have been knocke down once almost knocked down 4 timesi know others that have been knocked down . way too crowded aspecially on friday nights . i doubt they pay attension to building capacity. if there were ever a fire trajedy for sure. then to top it off they banned me because about 2 years agoo a girl slipped on sand thay had been spillid on floor and apparently they tried to blame it on me because they say their insurance told them to ban me.and in response to your response no i am not aware of any and i never mistreated any ladies out there and to the best of my knowledge i was very well liked by everyone out there.old young men and ladies. of course you would attempt to cover one lie with another. I imagine for your insurance company to blame me i am sure you pointed the finger at me and i am quite sure not a word about the sandbox being kicked over that night. and even after you were told about it after the incident it was not cleaned up.now going to another club and readind other reviews i hear of a lot of people being banned and mostly older men.why don't your review give somewhere to answer your response.Actually after thinking about it i highly recomend you editing your response. i probably am among the most honorable people to have ever came to your club and can very likely get at least 100 witnesses hope you kept the names of these so callled younger women or you may just find yourself in another lawsuit.probably a couple hundre younger women from your club has come and asked...

I was really excited to visit this bar because I like the country concept, but unfortunately, my experience was marked by an extremely humiliating incident.
On Valentine's Day night, I went there with a friend to take my mind off things, but when I arrived, I ended up being discriminated against and unfairly accused of being illegal. As an international student, I had documents that proved my legal status in the country, but I was pressured to provide my passport so that I could prove my legality. Although I presented a valid driver's license from another state, the behavior of the bar staff was completely disproportionate.
They tried to invalidate the authenticity of my document, kept it for more than 30 minutes and even called the police, which resulted in a humiliating situation for me. When the police arrived, I was finally able to get my document back, but the bar staff did not apologize for the false accusations. It is important to remember that they do not have the authority to withhold documents, and they did not even identify themselves as legal guardians or police officers. The simple fact that I explained that I was a student was not enough to avoid the embarrassment.
I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone. The treatment I received was completely disrespectful and caused legal embarrassment that could have been avoided. I hope that the owners of the establishment reconsider the people who are in contact with customers, as such a harmful service only creates problems and...
