We were in Palisade to ride the technical Palisade Plunge mountain bike trail. We drove into Palisade in the morning and parked at the public parking just near the railway tracks, got ready, then biked a very short distance to the bike shop and Palisade Cycle & Shuttle (round the back of the bike shop). On the day we went, the bike shop was not open for business that early, but it was open for using the toilet. The shuttle is a big van that pulls a trailer with the bikes on it. Rondo, our shuttle driver was very knowledgeable about the area and the history of biking and bike shops. It is a beautiful drive up to the several drop-off points. Interestingly, the shortest bike ride is the longest shuttle ride (due to the layout of the roads on Grand Mesa). We had some bike issues in our party, and our driver was super keen to help out. We will be doing this ride again and of course using Palisade Cycle & Shuttle.

Do the plunge! This shop is super knowledgeable about the trail, super friendly and accommodating. When taking the shuttle, they give solid advice about taking an honest assessment of your skills and endurance to choose your starting point. Heed their advice and put your ego aside. I limped my bike in with the derailleur cable barely hanging on and they fixed it right away to keep my weekend rolling. This is the best place to get your Palisade Plunge swag. They have a wide variety of quality merch.

Rented 7 e-bikes here and everyone was friendly and helpful! One of the members in our group unfortunately popped two different tires but the staff was understanding and helpful. I would say the e-bikes weren’t as powerful as we were expecting but it made it more of a workout (which I liked). Thanks to all here who helped us have a great day in wine country!

Coloradans visiting Palisade last week for the first time. We brought our own bikes to explore the area. Our tires were low so we stopped at Palisade Cycle & Shuttle for air. Christina couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Instead of taking the bikes off the rack, she came to our car and checked and pumped all the tires. When we asked her where she would recommend we explore in the area, she spent 20 minutes making detailed suggestions including Colorado National Monument, a destination we were not familiar with. She recommended we go in early evening when traffic would be lighter. It was amazing and a must see for anyone visiting the area. At 5PM the Monument roads were almost deserted making for a leisurely and breathtaking experience with time to enjoy the many pull-off areas within the park. Had Christina not suggested this site or walked us through the 27 mile Palisade vineyard/orchard ride highlighting where to stop for tours, tastings, lunch and fruit picking our visit to Palisade would have been much less enjoyable. A big shout out to Christina and the Palisade Cycle & Shuttle for your kindness and taking time to share your community with us. We...

Went in the store earlier today, 4 days out from finishing riding a bicycle around the world. It’s a fine bike shop, but it’s the owner I want to comment to. He asked me where I was headed, and I told him. His immediate reaction was to comment on my body, saying oh you think someone would be skinny after doing that. He doesn’t know the nights I spent in a hospital bed fighting for my life, he doesn’t know the struggles and the triumphs I have had, doesn’t know the half of what I have seen or what I have done. When he saw me and heard what I was doing he didn’t stop to think of what I may have experienced, didn’t even ask why I was covered in sealant and needed a spare tube, he went straight to judgement. This type of person sees the world through a pinhole, and seeks to belittle everyone down to a level that he can tolerate. There’s no room for this type of person in the bike industry, and barring a sincere apology I’d encourage everyone to just take their business to one of the stellar bike shops in Grand Junction or Fruita, they are far...

Friendly staff. We had rented eBikes for the Tour de Vineyard. When we got there the one that had been rented online showed up in their system but the one that had been rented over the phone with one of their employees had not. Thank goodness they had two left so our trip wasn't a bummer.

Bikes handled well, depending on what kind of eBike you're used to they are relatively easy to navigate and use. A big bonus is they have a good size bin attached to the back of the bike that you can stow quite a bit of stuff in. Plus they include a lock if you need to lock up your bike. Downside, they do not include any O2 cartridges or pumps and we did experience a slow leak on a back tire. We were lucky that we were part of a big bike tour so help was just a few minutes away in the form of a motorcycle riding medic who provides first aid not just for people but for bikes as well. 😆

I would rent from them again next time I'm up in...
