Coloradans visiting Palisade last week for the first time. We brought our own bikes to explore the area. Our tires were low so we stopped at Palisade Cycle & Shuttle for air. Christina couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Instead of taking the bikes off the rack, she came to our car and checked and pumped all the tires. When we asked her where she would recommend we explore in the area, she spent 20 minutes making detailed suggestions including Colorado National Monument, a destination we were not familiar with. She recommended we go in early evening when traffic would be lighter. It was amazing and a must see for anyone visiting the area. At 5PM the Monument roads were almost deserted making for a leisurely and breathtaking experience with time to enjoy the many pull-off areas within the park. Had Christina not suggested this site or walked us through the 27 mile Palisade vineyard/orchard ride highlighting where to stop for tours, tastings, lunch and fruit picking our visit to Palisade would have been much less enjoyable. A big shout out to Christina and the Palisade Cycle & Shuttle for your kindness and taking time to share your community with us. We...
Read moreWent in the store earlier today, 4 days out from finishing riding a bicycle around the world. It’s a fine bike shop, but it’s the owner I want to comment to. He asked me where I was headed, and I told him. His immediate reaction was to comment on my body, saying oh you think someone would be skinny after doing that. He doesn’t know the nights I spent in a hospital bed fighting for my life, he doesn’t know the struggles and the triumphs I have had, doesn’t know the half of what I have seen or what I have done. When he saw me and heard what I was doing he didn’t stop to think of what I may have experienced, didn’t even ask why I was covered in sealant and needed a spare tube, he went straight to judgement. This type of person sees the world through a pinhole, and seeks to belittle everyone down to a level that he can tolerate. There’s no room for this type of person in the bike industry, and barring a sincere apology I’d encourage everyone to just take their business to one of the stellar bike shops in Grand Junction or Fruita, they are far...
Read moreFriendly staff. We had rented eBikes for the Tour de Vineyard. When we got there the one that had been rented online showed up in their system but the one that had been rented over the phone with one of their employees had not. Thank goodness they had two left so our trip wasn't a bummer.
Bikes handled well, depending on what kind of eBike you're used to they are relatively easy to navigate and use. A big bonus is they have a good size bin attached to the back of the bike that you can stow quite a bit of stuff in. Plus they include a lock if you need to lock up your bike. Downside, they do not include any O2 cartridges or pumps and we did experience a slow leak on a back tire. We were lucky that we were part of a big bike tour so help was just a few minutes away in the form of a motorcycle riding medic who provides first aid not just for people but for bikes as well. 😆
I would rent from them again next time I'm up in...
