Awful Customer Service and experience, Shame Because the Food is nice

I rarely write reviews, but after my experience at this place, I feel compelled to share. We visited this cute little breakfast pastry shop twice in two days, and both times the customer service was absolutely terrible.

On our first visit, the two young girls working the front had a blatantly rude and demeaning attitude, especially toward a woman in front of us. It was uncomfortable to witness, and then did the same to us. We were hoping it was just a fluke or a bad day for them. But nope—our second visit was even worse. The same two girls were still there, and their behavior was just as rude, cold, dismissive, and unhelpful when we tried to place a simple order. And then did it to another customer after us!!!!

It’s honestly not hard to provide decent customer service (probably plenty of young people would love this job), but these girls acted like it was a chore to even speak to us and made it very obvious. It’s frustrating because the food is actually pretty good, and this little shop has such a cool vibe. But when you’re met with such a poor attitude multiple times, it completely ruins the experience.

We have a lot of friends/family here. Instead of recommending this place, I’d now advise people...

I’ve been going to this little bakery for most of my life. I haven’t ever had anything less than delicious food and wonderful service. I’m particularly fond of their fruit filled pastries! I attended a wedding 9+ years before I got married and I loved their cake so much I asked the bride where it was from and found out it was from Slice O Life. I tucked that in the back of my head and flash forward to 2021 when I got engaged to my now husband. He’s from Louisiana and had never had their cake. I brought home a small cake for us to sample together and he immediately thought it was as special as I did. We ended up doing 1/2 strawberry, 1/2 Mexican mocha and it was a hit with all our friends and family. My wife and I really enjoyed this bakery and really wanted to give it 5 stars. The food is absolutely great and priced extremely well. Almost all of the gals that work here are the absolute sweetest, but for whatever reason the woman behind the front counter was just downright unpleasant. At first I thought it may have just been us, but then we heard the folks at the table next to us complaining as well. It felt like she didn't want us there, and I don't know why.

If she can sweeten up a bit this place would be 5...
