Fowhand Furniture — Local services in Panama City

I purchased a Bench Craft Lift Recliner from Fowhands about 3-4 years ago. All the sudden my chair stops working and of course it was in full reclining position. You know how much room that takes up in your living room. At my age…78, female…this presents a huge obstacle for falling. Navigation is difficult. I called the store to ask for assistance but have gotten nowhere. I requested phone numbers of the manufacturer and a copy of my warranty to be sent to me by email and still have no information. This happened before Hurricane Helene and still waiting today 10/3 afternoon. I have made 20-25 calls to find someone to service the chair and there is no one in our area that services this product. I have called numbers online for the manufacturer to no avail. This is the worst fiasco over a $1000 chair. It is too big for me to move it out of the house or even to another room. What does one do with this situation? Who else do you contact? I’ve tried medical supply stores locally and other furniture stores. No one has a suggestion or even an idea how to handle this problem. When spending this kind of money for a chair, one would think there would be assistance if there is a problem. This chair really was a help to me with my aging and disability. The person that replied to my post yesterday, gave us a phone number to contact the manufacturer….when I called that number. It was not even correct!!!! It was to Bench Craft Design company…. advertising not even a furniture company! Is this how much you care about your customers??? The manager has still failed to respond or furnish a real phone number or provide a copy of the warranty. Quality furniture but disappointing service. In October, we ordered a recliner loveseat with a console to match a single recliner we had purchased previously. This would be made-to-order with delivery in six to eight weeks. Just prior to Christmas, we received a call for delivery. When the loveseat was unloaded from the truck, we noticed the color did not match the recliner originally purchased nor was the material the same. We were in a dilemma, because that morning we had donated our large sofa to Habitat for Humanity, so the recliner loveseat from Fowhand was intended to replace the sofa and without it we didn't have enough seating in the living room. We waited for about 45 minutes while the truck driver talked to people at Fowhand. Finally, someone from Fowhand called my wife and said that the only thing they could figure out was that the dye lot had changed causing the color difference. Of course, the saleslady had not explained that possibility to us at the time of purchase. As an option, Fowhand would take back the loveseat they had delivered, and we could return to the store at some point and look at other color samples. We thought that was a terrible resolution. First, It left us without the furniture in the living room. Secondly, we would have to wait another six to eight weeks for delivery. Lastly, whatever color we picked out, there was further likelihood the dye lot would not be exact. Consequently, to avoid further aggravation, we simply accepted the loveseat they delivered, although it wasn't what we ordered. Where do I begin? Absolutely the best place to go to furnish the beach house, condo or whatever. Unique items that only they have. If you shop around, you will find that Fowhand is a fantastic place to find that one item that will be the focal point of your house. We bought a dining set and a coffee and end table. We love it.
