My Original Review:
It looked so pretty. Smelled good. The pieces of chicken were far too large and they were TOUGH, as if the chicken in The Maya was precooked yesterday then warmed up again and THEN put on a panini and heated up yet again. I tried two bites to make sure it wasn't a one off but after about 20 chews I had to spit it out. I am also confused about the buttered toast used as the panini bread. One of the reasons traditional paninis use Cuban bread is because they flatten easily and do not become soggy. This bread was greasy to the touch and inedible.
I researched this place before I ordered and I was excited to spend money at a local-, female-, veteran-owned business. But I guess it's like every other place these days: if they only interact with you via a third party app, they don't care as much about the quality because there is zero accountability but still lots of profit. This was pretty expensive and I threw it in the trash. Sad. Maybe "Chef" Erica was off today?
I do not recommend and would not waste my money here again.
Restaurant Response:
"Where to start... Thanks for your review, we appreciate organic reviews. Quality: We cook our proteins fresh every day, nothing is pre-cooked. You also mentioned "traditional" paninis and it seems that you have done your research into our business and we do not advertise our Paninis or other menu items as "traditional." In fact, we are the opposite, it is very rustic and eclectic. Traditional Paninis are those from Panera Bread but there are other local establishments that serve traditional style Paninis. We also do not use butter on our Paninis either. We would love all of our first time customers to experience our business in person that way we can go over any questions or concerns prior to ordering but we offer the same quality of food and service on every ordering medium. We even leave commenting open on DOORDASH so that you can fine tune your order. Of course ordering anything for delivery you do sacrifice quality for convenience. Honestly, it wasn’t an off day! Chef Erica proudly serves the same great quality food day in and day out. Since this was your first time ordering, a call to the business could have been better communication but you decided to review here and on Facebook. So, Pressed isn't for you and that is OK! Have a Blessed Day."
My Reply to the Owner’s Comment:
Thanks for the reply. I actually did my research and was looking forward to supporting your business. That’s why this experience was so disappointing. I didn’t expect a traditional panini exactly, but I also didn’t expect a greasy sandwich with tough, overcooked chicken. I tried more than one bite to give it a fair chance. Perhaps it was not premade, but it definitely tasted reheated and dry.
What I find more disappointing than the sandwich is your response. Instead of showing concern or asking what might have gone wrong, you chose to defend every point and end with “Pressed isn’t for you.” On top of that, it appears I’ve been blocked on Facebook for leaving a negative review. That is not a good look for a business that wants to grow.
If you only want feedback from customers who already love the food, that’s your decision. But it makes it hard to improve, and it limits your ability to grow beyond a food truck audience. You missed a chance to build trust and maybe even gain a...
Read moreMe and my kids had the opportunity to enjoy "Pressed" at "Movie Night." I had the oxtail-loaded fries; they were delicious, and that spicy kick was a good surprise. The serving size was enough for leftovers, but of course mine didn't make it to see the next day. My girls had the grill cheese sandwich kids meal. My daughter made sure to tell me multiple times that it was better than mine, lol. "Mom, it's the cheese." Now I have to find that cheese so I can at least get a 3-star review until we can visit the Pressed Food Truck again for the 5-star version lol. I'm already stalking their Facebook page for the next...

The Chef, Ms. Erica Reynolds herself, was amazing, kind, funny, and thoughtful, and when i say thoughtful, i truly mean it !! When i showed up to retrieve my called in order, i dang near blew up from how delicious that food looked before me !! It wasn’t just good looking, but it tasted just as good as it looked, and if not, BETTER !!!
