Golden Glide deserves a "0". Golden Glide is unfortunately not a good place to work. All employees are unfairly made responsible for taxes that the company, as an employer, is legally obligated to pay. This includes improperly passing on employer tax liabilities—such as unemployment taxes—to employees. When these concerns are brought to management, particularly Ms. Miesha, there is a noticeable lack of accountability, and the blame is shifted to their payroll service provider. It is the responsibility of management at Golden Glide to ensure that the proper mandatory Georgia state taxes are accurately withheld from each employee’s paycheck. If an employee notices an error in their pay, they have every right to bring the issue to management’s attention. In turn, it is management’s duty to address the concern promptly and ensure that any necessary corrections are made by coordinating with their payroll service provider. Proper handling of payroll matters is a fundamental part of maintaining trust, which Golden Glide have lost, compliance, and fairness in the workplace. Additionally, Golden Glide does not withhold the correct state, federal, and FICA taxes, which can leave employees facing unexpected tax bills from the IRS. These issues are not disclosed up front, and employees only learn of them if they review their check stubs and ask questions. Unfortunately, those who speak up face retaliation. One example includes an employee being removed from the schedule after raising concerns, only to be told that the company was “revamping” operations—a vague and inconsistent excuse, especially when that employee’s schedule had remained unchanged for months. After reaching out for clarity, the same employee was told by Ms. Miesha that it would be her last time responding. This lack of communication and professionalism is concerning. Many of the staff are young workers who are doing their best, and it is troubling to see them taken advantage of in this way. I urge anyone considering employment at Golden Glide—especially parents of teens or young adults—to pay close attention to their paychecks, ask questions, and ensure they are being treated fairly. No employee should be misled, retaliated against, ignored, or penalized for advocating for...
Read moreWe attended Golden Glide on Sunday July 20th, 2025. To skate was pricey considering, we brought 12 kids with us. $10 with skates, or $15 per person with skate rental. Then a $5 spectator fee for any adult accompanying a child, very pricey!... I was charged a $2, CC fee, which took the total to 11.99, I understand CC fees, but advise the customers of the fee, they could possibly have cash, which I did and could have avoided this extra fee. So 12 kids, we paid for , no problem, last minute birthday fun for my niece, because I was a frequent Golden Glide patron, meet my husband here 28 yrs ago, so why not let's go have some fun. We also brought food, nachos, candy drinks etc. Purchased my nephew a pair of kid skates $50, because he didnt want to skate on the rental skates, so all together about $400 was spent spare of the moment, at a neighborhood staple to myself and so many more, for my niece and her friends to enjoy her birthday. Oh don't forget $5, purchased for 6 of the skate assistant rollers for the toddler kid's. Keep in mind, this was the early part of the day 330pm to 730pm, the skating rink was practically empty and we had the entire place to ourselves. The disappointment came in, when we wanted to sing her Happy Birthday and was told, we couldn't unless we paid a additional $25 to bring the cake inside...smh..I just feel this was a bit much, because if we would have booked a party at $150-$200, it would have been much cheaper, but since it was last minute we paid much more in excess of $400, Noone was there but us and you couldn't let us sing Happy Birthday and cut our cake. I just feel that was unacceptable, sometimes, you make certain exceptions, especially for certain circumstances. Why does our community treat us bad, as we try to patronize...#horrible Wanted to have a big skate party here soon, because I've been attending this place since a kid, but after yesterday, I will probably go support Greg at the Cascade location, where I know he would have definitely made a exception...
Read moreTonight I came 30 minutes early and told them that I have special needs children. I returned on time at 7 I paid for my children and told the young lady again that I had special needs children and she let us go in anyway. I went to go get skates for my daughter and they didn't have any in her size and I kept my autistic son in my hand. I went and purchased to skate helpers for $10 knowing that my son wasn't gonna be on the floor . I was asked to leave because my children couldn't be on the floor. I wasn't offered the video games nor to just sit and listen to music with them. I think this was bad business on your part because we were escorted to the door like we committed a crime and I don't know what my children did to deserve this. They seen my daughter crying and they still put us out. My children just lost their mother due to breast cancer and their family has split on all sides . We moved from N.C. to GA for better and to get away from being different and you treated us bad. This is unacceptable and you have not heard the last of me..And I was live so everyone on my time-line saw what you did to us.. my daughter was crying and you did nothing but put us out. Unacceptable because it clearly said on our car...
