Arizona Canal — Local services in Paradise Valley

Before they put in the sidewalk and lights , it was alright. We always sat outside and fished it for fun to see who caught a fish first. But now it's soo much better with the walk area and the lights and plants but now the only problem is the transients who dismantled the rock benches for 🔥and they set up camps right outside our place where we live. (19th ave to 23rd Ave.)just last night I yelled at someone who was messing with the lights because when I walk outside my apt that's the first thing I see is the canal. Calling the cops on them does no good, just recently they city of phx workers had chased them off, like they actually waited for them to round up all their carts up and moved off the canal way but as soon as evening nears they come and start setting up again. Lately you find them covered up with a jacket or blanket, and that's because they are smoking blues with aluminum foil. landlord wants to raise the rent up to a grand or close to it, don't know why cause this place isn't worth it, the transients also sleep in cars and park at our covered parking . They go through the dumpster and take whatever they could use It's sad here where I live and I've been here...

The Arizona canal is great when you want to go on a long walk or even run. It offers nice stretches of sidewalk- it extends in Tempe (saw a part behind Kiwanis), Scottsdale (by the Waterfront plaza), and even in Gilbert. There's so many sections to see. The sidewalk is paved and accessible too. There's occasional ducks floating around. The best view of the canal was at Arizona Falls where you can see the power of the water flowing and some small artificial waterfalls.
