A Life-Changing Experience at Movies in the Park

I truly cannot speak highly enough of Anthony, his wife, and the beautiful gift they give our community through their Movies in the Park on Saturdays.

Not long ago, I suffered a massive stroke—one that should have taken my life. I’ve been fighting through recovery, dealing with physical challenges, financial instability, and overwhelming anxiety. Life felt heavy. I was uncertain about my future, unsure how to keep going, and deeply weighed down by fear.

Then something extraordinary happened.

One evening, I took my seven-year-old out for a slice of pizza. My mind was racing, and I was barely holding it together. That’s when we stumbled upon the movie in the park. I had no idea that moment would become such a turning point for me.

In the middle of my personal storm, I was able to sit on the grass with my child, surrounded by laughter, joy, and a sense of community. For the first time in a long while, I felt peace. In that moment, I wasn’t thinking about hospital bills or my bank account or my lost job. I was simply present, watching a movie under the stars with my child. It was a reminder that life is still full of beautiful, simple moments—no matter how hard things get.

Anthony and his family put so much love into what they do. They volunteer their time, energy, and equipment to bring families together for a few hours of fun and connection. It’s more than just a movie—it's a gift. It’s hope. It’s healing.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Anthony and his wife afterward, and I had to tell them the truth: this event didn’t just entertain—it saved me. It gave me light at a time I truly needed it. And for my child, it created memories that will last a lifetime—memories we couldn’t have afforded otherwise.
