I didn’t get my first tattoo until I was over 50—mostly because I never saw anything I wanted to commit to forever. I got a few small ones, some scar cover-ups, but nothing major. Then, after scouring social media for artists, I found Joseph—and I was sold.

After a two-year wait, he did a hip/thigh piece for me. I was nervous because his process was totally different from what I was used to. My previous tattoos? I’d bring in a picture, and the artist would copy it with a little personal flair. But with Joey? You give him your ideas, and he creates something custom for you. For a picky person like me, that was both exciting and terrifying. I made sure to tell him upfront what was off-limits—no skulls, no snakes (which is, like, half his portfolio!).

I won’t lie—I was worried. But after giving him a description of who I am, my lifestyle, and my passions, he designed something so perfectly me that I couldn’t believe it.

When appointment time came, I was still intimidated. A big piece, three 8-hour sessions, and working with this “famous” artist—what if I wasn’t comfortable? But let me tell you, Joey is one of the most down-to-earth, unpretentious artists out there. He and his wife, Michelle, made me feel like I was hanging out with old friends, not just sitting in a chair for a transaction.

I loved my piece so much that I had him design a full back piece—and the way he captured my vision was nothing short of brilliant. I still have several sessions left, and I genuinely look forward to every single one.

I’ve been blessed to receive a piece of artwork from Joseph. I highly recommend Joseph not only for his artistic abilities, but for the overall experience that him and Michelle provide to their clients. Michelle and Joseph go over and beyond to make your experience receiving a tattoo with them holistic and memorable. Prior to each session we practice breath work, of course only if you wish. This simple yet effective act shows that he is willing to stop and take a moment to ensure his clients are relaxed and he is in the best mindset to be able to perform at his highest capability. I have greatly enjoyed our conversation, my ability to be open with him in the making of my design while trusting his creativeness to take an idea and produce a piece of art at which I could only dream. Joseph is committed to self reflection and growth in the industry which shows in the standards he holds for himself to produce quality work, maintain an active presence in the tattoo community, analyze and sharpen his craft despite my belief that “it’s perfect”. I am thankful that one day as I look back on my experience I will not only appreciate the beauty behind the art that I have, but the beauty of the connection and holistic experience I received during each of my sessions. Highly recommended tattoo shop!! All around great vibes in this place. All of the artists there are friendly, welcoming, and take pride/joy in their work. It's noticeable when you first walk in how much everyone there feels like a family, and as a client I also felt welcomed in to that atmosphere and very comfortable right from the start. Joseph is currently working on a thigh/hip piece for me and is an incredibly talented and intuitive artist. I told him my vision for the tattoo and he seamlessly created a piece that met and exceeded my expectations. He truly has a vision in his work and artistic skills that have earned him a reputation as a highly sought after tattoo artist! If you've seen his work and are interested in how he can bring your vision to life, the wait is truly worth it. I traveled from another state to see him for this one and am very happy I chose to do that and invest in myself by selecting him as the artist I wanted for this piece.
