Hometown Piggly Wiggly — Local services in Parkersburg

Have been frequenting the Gihon village location for several years. Today is still hard to imagine. Imagine this. You go into the cart area with a mountain bicycle completely road legal and with lock and cable safety device. After standing in cart area for what amounted to roughly 10 minutes on my phone that was giving me issues. A lady came charging out and said "Is this your bike"? Clearly I said, looking confused at her as I held the handlebar. She says you gotta leave. Leave now. I was fully intending to but as I entered the parking lot I turned around because I wanted more info from this lady about store owner and a phone number. I was threatened with a call to police, why? The lady never once asked me anything other than that bike cannot be here. There are zero signs stating a bike cannot be inside out of the weather, nor was my bike endangering anyone. She said bikes cannot be inside because they do not own them. Okay sure but you allow dogs (service dogs) cough.. and they do not own them. They may be somewhat trained animals but can still bite you. My bicycle never hurt a bug. I clearly showed no intent of trying to enter store with said bicycle either. I secure with lock and cable to such it cannot be moved. As I walked back in she started raising her voice and saying she was calling the police. I asked her to please do but my voice of reason told me to leave her be as she had already stated she was working alone and clearly did not have a grasp of her store. I'll never be back and it's not even the reason I was there. I was to pickup much needed diabetic supplies for my type 1 diabetes at the inside Pharmacy. I was denied entry. For having a bicycle never inside of the profitable part of the store. This lady was off the chain and after phoning the store was told as phone was falling to counter "hang up on him I don't have time for this". Well guess what, you're about to. I've never been so embarrassed to be in public in my life. I'm sorry but like John Rambo once said "I never drew first blood, you did." Corporate has been emailed and I'm waiting a return phone call. Follow ups once I've been given the validity of this woman's juvenile behavior. I literally cannot wait. More to...

There is a new person behind the desk now that is a total Karen. ( Funny enough I believe that's her name) While shopping hungry my BF stopped by the Deli and grabbed some pre-made product and went ahead and paid for it so he could munch as we shopped. We've done this in the past and no one has batted an eye. When she saw him she asked for a receipt which he provided and then went on to say that it wasn't appropriate that it wasn't a restaurant. Fair enough. Also fair enough to say we won't be back. She inquired loudly and rudely. Had she been kinder or quieter the whole situation would have been quite different. It's a shame as I enjoy every other staff member at this location. And btw her idea of inquiry was to yell "hey you, you gotta pay for that!" across...

Excellent grocery store. Wonderful variety of food supplies here, from their delicious meat isle to the cereal isle they have a vast supply of each different areas. The dairy department is as excellent as there meat and cereal isle as well as there fruit and vegetables. I would have to travel half way around the world to find a bigger selection of grocery items. I would recommend this to all my family and friends as well as any.stranger looking to...
