Samsara Home — Local services in Parkville

I learned about Samsara Home when they were on the Fox4KC morning show last week. The items Carlos brought from the store to feature on the segment caught my eye. They were talking about their booth at the Overland Park Holiday Mart which I couldn’t attend this year. I was very glad to learn they were local.

All the reviews about the owners and shop are right on! They made me feel very welcome and their enthusiasm was contagious! They clearly love what they do.

They’ve been in Parkville for 5yrs and their creativity started with the renovation of the space they reside in to the decor they offer their customers. They originally planned to be in Downtown Overland Park, but second thoughts from the owner of the space they were going to rent from was Overland Park’s loss and Parkville’s gain.

Pros and Cons: Pros: Carlos and Alex have great design skills and help navigate through the color and design choices. They created a new open kitchen floor plan with a beautiful island that is the centerpiece. They suggested additional updates, for example, large format tile over the outdated brick fireplace chimney. They are involved from beginning to end. Cons: They can become very close to your wife, if married, she may get emotionally involved, there will be a lot of kissing, and emotionally loaded texting. After the project she may plan a trip with them without your knowledge, and when you find out you are told to get out of this brand new beautiful kitchen. That was my experience. Loved this store from outside even have some maternity pics out front of beautiful entrance. Finally had a chance to stop in at Christmas on River and was completely ignored and given looks because I had my son in my stroller. Had my mon look in first since had stroller with me. They greeted all other people and asked if wanted wine and had snacks. Completely ignored us and even caught some snide looks. Walked directly by employees and food n wine in back area and watched everyone get welcomed except mom and bc we had the stroller with my son.
