I had to have my rings repaired here. It was a wedding band set that I had to have cut off. I waited a few weeks for my finger to heal then I took the rings in. Donna was very pleasant when I explained the situation and she assured me they would be fixed and be perfect etc. I dropped them off on 4-18. They called me and asked me to come back in the jeweler wanted to size my finger himself. I went in same day they called and all was well. He told me the rings would be ready that Wednesday and I agreed that was fine. I went in Wednesday and the rings weren't there. Donna called him and he didn't answer. She told me she would call me as soon as she heard from him. Hours later I called her and she said they wouldn't be ready until Friday. She said he was buying a condo in Florida and he usually wasn't like this etc. She said they we're going to refund some of my money for the inconvenience (I didn't ask for that but it was nice of her). On Friday I went to pick up my rings. He was supposed to have sized them a 9.5 and he had messed up and sized them a 8.5. He was there that day so they had him resize them AGAIN whole I waited with my three year old! He did it in 30 minutes and I went on my way. By Sunday two of my stones had fallen out. I took them in again on Monday. They said well he's not going to retip the ring and we usually charge for this etc. I said he had to cut the ring again and size it he needs to fix this. They said he would look at it. I just picked it up again (Wednesday). They said he tighten the stones and replaced what fell out and they tried to get me to sign a paper stating no more warranty. I wouldn't sign that since the jeweler is the one that messed the ring up and had to recut it causing the stones to be loose. Plus the original was from there!!!! The ring was bought from there! The entire experience was a nightmare. I only gave two stars since Donna was nice. UPDATE:::: I returned today and met with mark Schneider and him and I went over my ring together. He refunded all my money to the repair and he is going to warranty the ring for a year. I'm very satisfied that they are standing behind the work and I have an understanding of what exactly happened with my ring now. I will be a returning customer and do advise people to do business here. This company...
Read moreUnfortunately there is no confusion. We have repeatedly asked for the appraisal since September and we were repeatedly told it was in the mail and we could not pick it up or receive it by email. This week was the only time in the last 6 months that we were offered to receive it by email. I would appreciate if you did not invalidate my experiences as I would not call a store weekly for six months if there was a different solution offered. It saddens me that my experience with Howardâs has been so poor. For months they would not send the appraisal for my ring and refused to clean my ring when I stopped by. My fiancĂŠ and I picked out an engagement ring in September and since we purchased the ring, the manager Tanya has been nothing but unprofessional and bizarre towards us. She was the one who helped us picked out a ring and during the entire process we were rushed with no one else in the store. If it werenât for the quality of rings at Howardâs I would have never stayed or let my partner purchase a ring. I tried to get my ring cleaned (after getting food on it) one month after purchase on 10/15. The manager again, Tanya, told the woman who was helping me not to clean the ring. I let them know I drove from a different city (two hours) to get the ring cleaned. Tanya looked at the woman and said donât do it and walked away from me. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. I asked the woman to please put down that I stopped in for a cleaning because I donât want to lose my warranty since I live hours away. Tell me why I called and they donât have it on record that I visited on 10/15? If I could return this ring to never have to deal with Tanya I would. It took SIX MONTHS to get the appraisal for the ring. We called every week since September and we just received the appraisal after having to beg today. She is a unprofessional person and I would never recommend anyone coming to this location. Thank you for making a moment that is supposed to be memorable, absolutely miserable. Iâd really appreciate a message or communication...
Read moreI wish I could leave negative stars. Better yet I wish it was an actual crime to be dishonest. Imagine walking in, unsure of what your engagement and wedding ring was worth. Having to deal with the unfortunate truth that these rings no longer hold the sentimental reason you once had for them and what they meant. (Divorce)
So we looked around the area and felt like Howards would be a safe place to seek professional insight on the value of these Takori rings. We were appraised around $600 dollars and told that the diamonds were the lowest quality of diamonds. It was felt with disappointment. But appreciated what we thought was truth and the transparency.
We left and thought we might want to have them looked at elsewhere. And boy are we glad we did. How does a jeweler go from the value of $600 to another appraisal of $15k ? And we were told "I don't know who you went to, but these diamonds are in fact class B diamonds" not the foggy yellow (lowest tier) diamonds we were told at Howards. The gentleman with the glasses amd hand tattoos is all I can remember and frankly don't care to know his name. But he stated that these rings weren't worth much.
Completely dishonest, why not be truthful? What's there's to loose to just be fair and honest? Yes we recognize you can't purchase them for what they're worth. But to be honest, it doesn't cost you, the business anything. It's free. And maybe that's the catch. A free appraisal gets you free loose professional advice. Shame on you Howards. That gentleman should be ashamed of getting over on us. I remember distinctly how he mentioned. We can cash you out right now. Of course you would. I will never recommend this...
