I moved to PA from CA about a month ago and my wife keeps sending me here for things ranging from food to electronics. At first, because it's a college town,I thought the employee's lack of eye contact, lack of greetings, being on their phones at work, being crowded up,talking and laughing while lifting one package at a time, refusing to help me locate items or get me a manager...I assumed it was because these are just kids at their summer job. But after going there to make a major purchase in electronics, asking for help after wandering the back half of the store for 5 min or so, I was told to wait with my 2 screaming kids in electronics to for assistance. After another 20 min I left, and complained loudly on the way out to a petulant, young beardy who shrugged and said "sorry."How meaningful. At this point I decided to amuse myself, and in the 2 weeks that followed, went to Target and did my shopping, then found employees and asked them for help in finding things...things I didn't want but just to see if ANYONE would be willing to walk a customer to an item. 0 out of 8 times.Wowsers.Unfortunately,I had previously bought curtain panels for the house there,3 of them, which is the greatest number of any single type they have plan-o-grammed.So after almost 3 weeks I went in for more panels, assuming that they'd have re-stocked. Nope. But I did find 4 panels of a different type, and at the register when the woman asked if I had found everything,I told her no, and explained that when it comes to curtains, FOUR of any one type isn't enough for more 2 windows...now, I had grabbed 2 of 2 different types because someone had simply stocked the curtain department the way they do everything else; badly. And while this woman was refusing to look at me,listening to me complain about all this using the repeated number of FOUR, she rang me out for 2 of 2.Didn't catch it til I got home, what a joy. She explained to me that it's corporate's fault and I asked for a manager. "I don't know where they are." When will the store manager be working next? "I dunno." Receipt in my face, starts talking to the next in line as though I were gone. Then the 2 panels I used turned out to have pinholes (see pics, hopeful res is high enough).Went back the next day to CS and explained this saga to LUCAS.LUCAS is the only person I have dealt with there who makes eye contact, pays attention to customers, greets and says goodbye, i.e. his job. Here's where it gets REALLY good. Behind me a line forms and another woman I'd never seen started taking folks at another register while I'm going off, and finally a manager comes tells me to "just ask for manager next time I come in", as though I had not done that exact thing over and over. This was too much, and I explained that I would rather engage in a passionate relationship with a fisherman's dog than come back to this store.I didn't phrase it that way, I cussed.Oops! Turns out that the woman in the background, who heard most of my rant at LUCAS and said nothing - THAT'S THE STORE MANAGER!The second I swore out of sheer frustration she puffed her chest out and yelled at me "MY NAME IS NICOLE AND I'M THE STORE MANAGER!!YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW!" I laughed and said, "I am leaving, permanently, that's the point."Then NICOLE said, "THIS IS MY STORE SO GET OUT AND YOU SHOULDN'T USE LANGUAGE LIKE THAT IN FRONT OF YOUR KID".So now it's her store, but she's not responsible, that's LUCAS' job. Her store, but no one can find her or tell me when she works.I'm the bad guy and a bad dad to boot. NICOLE, I'd rather my kids grow up to swear like their Marine father and be hard workers than speak daintily and be a sandbagger like you. Can't do your job, then tell me how to parent? You deserve that minimum wage career. And LUCAS, I'm not settling for that place and you shouldn't either, as a former MOD who hired, you can do better. Believe in yourself and your work ethic and go for...
Read moreHorrible customer service. I went online to check if the heater was ready for pick-up. It was. I added my husband as an alternative pick-up person. I sent him to Target after work to pick up the printer. When he went to customer service, they said that they could not find his name nor my name. He asked them to go in the back and look because it was ready for pick-up. They refused. He came home and told me what they had said. I called Target and asked what was going on. The person on the phone looked up our order and said both of our names were on the order and that it was ready for pick-up. I sent my husband back after we ate dinner to get the heater. The service desk once again told him that the order did not exist. He told them that I had called, and they refused to go into the back to check for the order. He told them he was not leaving until they went and checked. They checked and the heater was in the back. My husband asked to talk to the manager because this was ridiculous that he had so many problems. The manager told him that he has his item and should just be happy and go home. The WORST customer service. This is the second time I've had this issue at this Target. The first time I was understanding. Now I'm not. I'm just going to order my stuff from Amazon from now on and tell other people to do the same. If the manager had cared at all, maybe that wouldn't be the case.
Updated: The manager contacted me. The person I talked to was NOT the manager and is looking into identifying this person. Much better feeling about...
Read moreMy experience was with the customer service desk. I had a return/exchange I wanted to do and the girl helping me seemed to be a new employee. I had an online order that I wanted to exchange for another top. The cost did not match the tag, as it was on sale. The girl helping me did not notice until I said something. I wanted to exchange the old top for w different one, which apparently cannot be done unless it’s the same exact item of clothing. The girl did not know what to do once this happened. When she asked for help, she was ignored by her coworker and it further flustered the girl. I then felt extremely uncomfortable because 1.) the girl didn’t know what she was doing 2.) there was obvious tension between the employees 3.) I was not being understood or helped at all. I ended up settling and agreeing do an exact exchange for a shirt I did not want (I got a different color) and walked out of the store leaving behind the top I actually wanted. The girl was unhelpful and appeared to not care how to fix the problem and was okay with me sacrificing my satisfaction to leave her alone. I never leave target unsatisfied but yesterday, I was extremely disappointed in the way the matter...
