Updating my original review.
I had purchased a used 07 John Deere 2320 that was advertised as a damaged unit that needed a hydraulic line repaired.
I called in to verify that is all the unit needed to be up and running.
The sales person reassured me that the fluid rushes out faster than you can put it in and it would need a new line to fix it and the shop is backed up so it could be months before its fixed so selling as is.
I inspected the unit but could not see any obvious damage in the area mentioned and checked out the rest of the units condition. Everything else looked good to me so I purchased it.
BUT when we got it home and started inspecting the unit we found that there was a lot more damage than just a line. So far we have not found a broken line but we did find a driveshaft that had let go and broken off the input shaft to the hydro pump. The driveshaft was not something you could see without taking off the floor panel and brake pedals. Once those parts were out of the way we found the broken driveshaft that had been unbolted from the engine and had bailing wire around it to hold it in place.
At this point we feel we were lied to as this is a lot more damage than originally stated in the add and over the phone. I felt like I just bought a used paper weight and feeling frustrated I wrote my original review.
Shortly after that I was reached out to by the company and we went over everything that had happened.
Apparently the tractor had not been inspected at all by Self Equipment and the description of the damage was that of the previous owner.
The sales person was working by themselves that week because of other employees that were out on vacation and others that were sick so when we called about the unit they were just reading the information off of the website and had no personal involvement with the tractor so they did not know it had not been checked out at all.
Once this was established I felt a little better knowing I was not flat out lied to and that there was just a communication gap and unfortunate circumstances that ended us up in this situation.
Self Equipment has offered to make this right by offering a refund for the amount needed to repair the damage that was unknown to both parties at the time of sale.
It is unfortunate that we ended up in this situation but Self Equipment has stepped up and offered to help with the repairs and get my used tractor up and running asap and I really appreciate their assistance and would gladly purchase another tractor/implement...
Read moreI purchased a John Deere 2021 5090R from Self Equipment. And I have to say it was a seamless experience from beginning to end. Both Josh and Jeremiah were extremely helpful, honest, and upfront about everything. It was a bit of a hassle on my end and some things got messed up from my credit union and getting the funds to them. And both Jeremiah and Josh were extremely patient and understanding at every step of the way. They answered any question I had in a very timely and quick manner. They even sent me multiple videos anytime I asked to see the tractor and go over the details of the tractor.
I bought the tractor sight unseen and they made the process easy and earned my trust throughout the whole process. I had the tractor shipped to Florida and they exceeded my expectations with a fast and easy transport. I appreciate all they did for this transaction. It was truly a pleasure doing business with them. I would not hesitate to go through them again with anything I may need in the future! They are first class!
As for the negative reviews, with my experience, it seems the customer may not always be right! Jeremiah and Josh do whatever they can within reason to make things right and gain loyal customers! Thank you guys so much for an easy transaction. And thank you for selling me a perfect loader that looked like it fit the tractor...
Read moreDo not do business with these con artists. I tried purchasing a tractor from them and they sold it out from under me. They absolutely refused to sell it to me after I had even looked over the tractor and had expressed interest in the machine. When I called them on the day after I looked at it (I looked at it on a weekend when they were closed), ready to deal, they said they were going to sell it to another guy who hadn't even looked at it yet - completely unethical business practice. They said they were going to look for an identical tractor, and I haven't heard from them since. As a result my business is in a bind and I can't find another tractor like the one I wanted. I hope these idiots are happy with the damage they have done.
EDIT: In response to the owner's reply below, that is a LIE. Don't you DARE tell me that you found another tractor for me and that I refused the deal. You never called me back once. I will never do business with you, I have recommended to my neighbors never to do business with you, and I have announced on a couple of internet forums to never do business with you. If you can lie about finding me another machine, then what do you lie about when you do your daily business? This is why I cannot stand...
