El Tapatio — Restaurant in Pauls Valley

I was practically dying of starvation in this town. I moved here about 6ish years ago. Walmart groceries are gross. I was sad when Valley Meat Market closed down :( There's nothing else around here that I find myself craving or going out of my way for. This is a small town with nothing to offer as far as good eatin' goes. Sorry, PV. I really do love it here. This little town is great. I'm just HUNGRY 😭😂

WELL!!! Thank my lucky stars Tapatio is here!!! I have So Many excellent things to say:

First of all, their staff is the BEST. We always, Always have the same waiter and he is top notch! Big shout out to Amilcar for always providing friendly, fun & perfect service! This place really has their ish together! I wish all of the businesses around town ran as seamlessly as theirs. Also, you may see a young lady, Vivian, at the counter when you walk in.. she's So Nice! She will take great care of you & your family. I had the wonderful pleasure of working side by side with her briefly in the past at another establishment, and it was a treat to see her here.

The FOOD: I have tried it all! The tilapia, shrimp, steak, beef, chicken, tacos, burritos, fajitas, vegetarian dishes... you name it. Everything is smoking hot & incredibly fresh & flavorful! The portions are Huge! My husband and I are always left super stuffed with plenty of leftovers, and you just can't beat their prices when every single thing here is a 10 star rating.

They always have incredible drink specials, and there's so, So much to choose from their alcoholic beverages, and from the food menu. I have eaten here a handful of times, and I'm confident I can eat here every week for the rest of the year before I'm able to try Everything.

Anyway... I could go on and on. Close the reviews, hop in your car already and GO. You'll be glad that you did!

UPDATE Yoooo!!! If the original salsa that is served with their tortilla chips isn't hot enough for you, I HIGHLY recommend (beg) you to ask for the spicy green sauce!!! The heat is On Point for those that LOVE spicy food like we do!!! We mix it with the queso & it's so damn good, we HAVE to order it every time we dine here now. It's a "Must Have"! me and my fiancee ate here when they first opened, nothing about it was good so we went back like a week or two later to give them more time to adjust, still not good.. we went back for the third time last night for fathers day and i seriously think it has gotten worse. im all about second chances and giving them oppurtunity due to just opening and getting everything on track at first but my service last night was AWFUL.

i have two weird allergies, beans of any kind and bell peppers. my first time there i was served beans (that were all over the rest of my food) after stating that i have an allergy and cant have them, when my plate was brought to be and i corrected him and asked him to fix my order because i can not eat this he got extremely rude and hateful. last night i was ordering a chicken quesadilla and asked him if there is bell peppers that comes mixed with the shredded chicken he tells me no and then brings my plate and when i tell you i basically has a tortilla full of bell peppers, i think there was two little pieces of shredded chicken.. he came back out i asked him to fix it and just give me fajita chicken since there is bell peppers on what he gave me, he argued with me about how he told me they were on there and thats how it comes, we waiting on my food for an additional 20 minutes finally my fiancee goes inside to figure out if we had been forgotten or what was taking so long, my food comes out and still didnt have my rice (forgot to add in beginning they forgot my side of rice and my fiancees tortillas) we go to check out and i ask her what all he is trying to charge us for and she read of my fianees food, his margaritas, the food he originally brought me, my side of rice, and the food i got afterwards.. i then inform her of everything that had happened and that i would not be paying for the side of rice i never received or the food i was originally got that was completely wrong, her and her manager were great and understanding about what has happened and took off the items that i didnt recieve and or was wrong.

ive gave them three oppurtunities, 2/3 of those times i was served food i am allergic to after stating that i have allergies, both of those two times after trying to get my food fixed and edible for me my waiters were rude hateful and very disrespectful....

Another fabulous night at El Tapatio :) A 5 star review well deserved! Service was impeccable. Food was Hot & Oh So Delicious! Virtually no wait time, and Amilcar is fantatsic as always. The pictures consist of freshly made guacamole, queso, bottomless salsa & chips, a Huge steak fajita quesadilla that was so big, I had to eat it with a knife & fork Lol I honestly can't say I've ever had a quesadilla that I couldn't just pick up and eat with my hands.. freakin' awesome. The 3rd photo is the combination beef & chicken fajitas (the tortillas are out of camera view, but were served warm & to perfection), and accompanied with the usual rice & beans- yum! Get you some!!

Edit: We came here again a couple of weeks later, and AGAIN I highly recommend dining here. I added more photos for reference.
