Every year, since 1998 & raising kids in Pekin, Illinois: We have never missed the “Pekin Winter Wonderland” starting with the Sunday after Thanksgiving with the Christmas Parade with lots of candy & the arrival of Santa Claus, followed by the gathering at the Park Pavilion at the Lagoon, & hot chocolate, cookies, free balloon animals, visiting Santa personally, raffles, an Awesome Community Christmas Caroling, followed by Fireworks over the waters!!! Then, Downtown Pekin becomes the beautifully decorated Historical Christmas with Horse and Buggy rides, bands, candies, free balloon animals, smells from the local restaurants; oh, and Santa’s back, too!!!! WHO EVERY IS IN CHARGE OF THE GROUNDS CREW AT THE SPORTS COMPLEX SHOULD BE FIRED . NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE AND START OVER. THE FIELDS ARE A MESS . Perfect place to have fun with the kids, I went here all the time to play at the park when I was younger, I have a great memory of riding the paddle boat with my grandpa before he died and I'll have good memories of him here,and even when I got older, it's also a great place to meet your drug dealer since Pekin is a healthy thriving drug world....
