I just got home from visiting this quaint little nursery . Wow. This place is a gem!! They have a beautiful little meadow type of area filled with any plant /shrub/vine/roses/trees imaginable. It's not the typical "sections" of specific plants with concrete separating them , instead it's literally like exploring a large garden- they are still organized by plant types, it just blends all together perfectly. At the back of the extensive garden, are two large weeping willow trees, where the roses are . It's just amazing. The inside is covered in so many cute knick knacks and artsy antiques. The prices are very reasonable, by the way! I recieved a discount celebrating the coming up Eclipse- so cute.
I appreciate the history of how Myers came to be. The nursery has been in the same shop there for 45 years!! The staff were/ are very friendly and helpful, one of the ladies offered me a bottled water when I came back inside a hot mess. I spent a good hour in the 12 to 1 sun. In my work jeans.
Anyway, I ended up getting a few carnivorous plants, a lily of the valley, and a hibiscus with flowers larger than my hand. I'm so glad my manager told me about this place. I will never go anywhere else for plants. I can't wait untill next year! I missed the passionflower vines, but next year I am so getting a passionflower vine !!
I am telling everyone about this wonderland, I know I sound dramatic... but I really am beyond...
Read moreI can't not give this business enough stars! My family and I were driving home to Illinois from Orlando, FL. I always tell my husband I love the spanish moss on the trees down there and was told you could keep any because of the bugs that live on it. This was the only plant business open on Sundays. I called them to see if they had any spanish moss, we were going to be driving right through. When I called I spoke with Jill. She asked the owner if it would be ok to take payment over the phone and hide the plant somewhere for me. I cant even put into words how extremely happy I was when they told me they could do that for me. Jill text me with a picture letting me know where my spanish moss was and I asked her about care and maintenance for it. This was the highlight of our family vacation for me. I look at my plant everyday. I told my husband it was a sign to stop and get it, no other plant businesses are open on a Sunday, we were driving through anyways, they had one left, they were able to take payment over the phone and hold it for me. Thank you Jill and the owner, I can't remember what she said...
Read moreLove this nursery! My husband and I make trips to Pelham JUST to go here! I absolutely love the greenhouse. It's so cozy and personal....it feels less commercialized than any greenhouse I've ever been to! They have a huge selection both indoor and out (varies seasonally, obviously) of plants, including rare specimens that they propagate and "raise" in-house. They also have indoor and outdoor decor, and a lot of great gift ideas! Staff have always been super friendly. Even if we encounter a new/different staff member that we aren't familiar with, they fit right in with the hospitality we've received from others. The owner is super friendly as well! I will gladly pay a little more to shop independent businesses when they are...
