Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Penn Hills

I'd give you zero stars if I could. I have been shopping at your store for 7 years but I won't be returning. I went through self checkout because I was buying one order on a card and the second few things with cash. My second order when I scanned my box of tampons said I needed help and "help was on the way" the blonde with long hair came over. She scanned her card and I said another thing the iced tea is supposed to be 5 for 5 but they aren't scanning that way. She then looked at my bags(I had not put my first order back in the cart yet) and said "that's alot of stuff for only 12.00. I said I just paid for those items and said "Here is my receipt"!! The girl didn't even apologize she just said "well we have had alot of thefts lately".. Thinking that the accusations were over after I provided my receipt for the items she pointed to my cart and said "what's in that giant eagle bag"? I said MY PRESCRIPTIONS you can look if you want." I have never been so incredibly offended in my life before and she wouldn't even go back to check the price of the iced tea either. The sign said 5 for 5 so I made her remove them since she wouldn't price check and I just wanted out of the store because I was angry over the entire interaction with her. I understand people DO steal but to immediately come off as passive aggressive and accusatory off the bat...

This Giant Eagle is not customer friendly. The bakery is a joke. You can come in at night and place a cake order for the next day and that is ok even though it won't be 24 hours notice. But you can't be trying to reach them from 6am and not get a hold of no one until around 7 that tells you that someone will call you back in 10 minutes that the cake decorator isn't in. Needless to say no one calls me back and I call back a hour and 10 minutes later. Then they tell me oh because you didn't come last night they won't be able to make the cake. When I asked how did that matter because even if I came last night they wouldn't have gotten it until this morning so what is the difference oh me calling in now and the manager was like it's because it would of already been here. I said but you wouldn't have gotten until this morning and he said correct. Then he tried to tell me I could get one of the already made up cakes. In which my opinion they are not nice looking cakes. But I'm happy to say and I recommend others to please try Stoecklein's Bakery Shop on Saltsburg Rd. Because even though I know they are busy they are going to do my cake for me. Oh I forgot to mention I don't need it until 6 or 6:30 this evening. Don't recommend this...

I went in today to have my booster for the vaccine. I called in advance so I didn’t waste a trip. A gentleman waited on me and wanted to know who I spoke to, I didn’t remember. He spoke to 2 other females who both looked irritated I was there. I have Lupus and severe spinal conditions. I am on 3 different immunosuppressants and was aware of disclosures. I filled it out and a girl named Mia pushed the form back rudely and said, “like he said, mark here to acknowledge “. I have major cognitive issues and on a ton of prescriptions, a little kindness and patience go a long way. The woman who gave my injection only defended her when I mentioned her rudeness. I used to love the staff at this pharmacy but today I felt so disrespected and so small. I have serious cognitive problems, are medical staff only trained to treat us all like we are diseased and drug seekers? I HIGHLY recommend THE MEDICINE SHOPPE in Penn Hills, stellar staff, I am treated so kindly, they look for the best and affordable deals and my meds are delivered free. Ask for Nick and stop waiting in line at Giant Eagle to be treated...
