I recently found myself in Bay Window Quilt Shop looking for a specific button. I love to browse the entire shop when I go there as I don't go often. I found myself purchasing fabric for 3 projects. Initially enchanted, excited and grateful for such lovely fabric options but the way that the mid-aged female employee spoke to and treated the elder female employee was painful and disheartening. I can only describe the treatment as a store Dobby (Lord of the Rings Dobby). I could never have that kind of energy in my work. Even more terrible in a community that highly values our elders. Speaking as a small business owner myself, there is really no excuse to treat humans that way....
