DO NOT use this location to rent a carpet scrubber. They will rent out filthy machines, and then tell you oh well. The contract we signed says it is our responsibility to inspect the machine and make sure it is clean and free of any damages. We did that. Unfortunately, Big Lots does not have a test strip of carpet to check and make sure that once you power on the unit, there is no cat FECES up inside of it. Our carpet is now stained to where we need to hire a professional to come clean it, all because they couldn't do their job. Why? The manager John said because they can "hardly keep employees to staff the store". There is a reason a deposit is charged when renting. When someone returns a unit, it is their job to make sure it is inspected, and clean/free of any damage, or that deposit is then kept to rectify the problem. I am allergic to cats. I do not have cats. I should not have to now pay more money to get cat feces out of my carpet because they can't keep their store staffed properly. This isn't necessarily a reflection of the store, but it is still a negative situation and experience.

   Read moreHad the worst experience with a manager ever at the Canton, Ohio Whipple Ave location. Shopping one evening close to when they closed. I was waiting in line to be checked out. There were 2 others in front of me and it was taking a bit longer due to a new employee being trained. The trainer cashier went and locked the doors. It was 9pm. She told the trainee to ring me up and she was checking for other customers. A Manger came to help the trainee. The manager said in a very aggressive tone. "Hello ma'am, So nice of you to wait until the very last minute to do your shopping this evening". I replied "sorry, I just finished work." I had over $200 of merchandise. I was in line waiting to be checked out before the store was officially closed. It was the rudest thing I have ever heard anyone say to a customer especially in front of a new employee. The look on his face when the manager acted that way was a look of shock. At the end of my transaction I told the manager what a great job his new trainee had done and maybe he could learn a few things about guest service from him. The manager said "oh, I was just kidding. This by far is the worst experience Iâve EVER HAD!! I put an order in last week it was pending then disappeared, I called and the rep was uninformative was not able to help me but assured me the he had no history of my order and it probably just didnât go through and I can send it again. I get back on to order the comforters again and I keep getting a decline message, I keep trying to send it through confused checking my account not understanding why itâs declining.
