Strike Zone used to be my favorite place in Stark County to bowl. When PK took over, I was extremely excited. Money being put into an alley instead of shutting one down? Awesome! The staff was friendly, everyone knew you by name, and things were reliable.
Fast forward to 2019, and the place is going downhill, and downhill fast. The lanes are rarely cleaned, and by the time I get done my hand looks like that of a coal miner. The staff is not only totally new, but unfriendly and rude as well. I'm not sure who the big dude working the front desk is (they drove away their best employee who now works at an alley in Cuyahoga Falls), but he needs to not be in customer service.
I go to throw a practice session, and 3 frames from being done, and with half an hour from practice beginning, and they weren't going to oil my pair since lane 9 was broken down (a common theme these days), he tells me to hurry up, and that I'm holding up practice. He then threatens to turn my lane off after I've already paid.
Listen, I used to love this place, but these people running it? They're not bowlers. They're not even customer service employees. If you want a good time and not treated like you're worthless (even though I've been a league bowler here for several years), go someplace else. Park Centre and Eastbury are nice, or Stonehenge in Cuyahoga Falls if you're...
Read moreThe physical facilities are decent, hence them getting any more than one star. I’ve gone here quite a few times, mostly for pool but I have bowled a couple times as well. The first thing I’ve noticed is that if the bartender knows you, she loves you. But if she doesn’t, she couldn’t care less about getting you your drink, let alone making it right. And if you pay cash make sure you ask how much it is and count your change because she will take a tip out without asking. The food is alright, but it’s certainly nothing special. Just typical bar/bowling alley food. Also, I’m pretty sure having a dog running in and out of the kitchen is considered sanitary.
For pool players, this place is the epitome of a “catch .22”. The tables are okay, plenty of space, and usually well kept but they can roll funny from time to time. But the only good time to go there for pool is either in the spring or in the fall. They never turn the heat or A/C on, to the point to where people will be drenched in sweat in the summertime and shivering in the winter. If it wasn’t for being in a league that requires we play there, I wouldn’t go there for pool more than 4 months total out...

Edit: 3 weeks just about since horrible time and multiple times reaching out to management or anyone with not even a single word of a response. Our lane broke and then they had no open ones left. 2 frames in so we decided based off the atmosphere but also physical state of the building inside we'd get a refund and just go home. We waited for help literally 25 minutes. Then front desk man looked up from his phone finally and said well we tried. Told me then right away so we don't do refunds because it's like just not a thing. I'm sorry what?? Then you tell me I'm wrong about it ? What a great business plan I'm definitely going to be back now. So we basically paid for 2 full games and shoes even got drinks at the bar and your saying our lane broke and you have none open so we're waiting again but we have to wait or nothing else. Outrageous. Go put some more plastic cups and towels on the lanes to catch the dripping water. I hope you are shut down for your disgusting...
