Playland — Local services in Petaluma

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. My 11 yo son and I went to play paintball on Saturday. First time for both of us. We didn't realize we should be wearing protection and all we had were the t-shirts we were wearing. First hit on my son and he burst out crying. He was hit in the shoulder on his t-shirt sleeve. It left a nasty bruise. We had to leave because he was too upset and in too much pain. I don't want to sound like a wuss, but I really don't think the staff should let newbies go out there and play without a sweatshirt - at least. I even asked how much does it hurt on bare skin and the staff member said "6/10". The ball left damage - the bruise is still there a day later. This was very painful. If we had known better, I would have left, gone next door to Target, bought some cheap sweatshirts, and come back to avoid this.

Another thing is that the parking lot is not paved or gravelled. It had rained the day before and the dirt lot was the craziest, stickiest, mud I've every seen. The kind of clay that gets thicker as you walk on it and you have to scrape it off with a blade and dig it out of the pattern on the soles of your shoes with a screwdriver. I'm still cleaning it out of our shoes a day later and not looking forward to getting it out of the carpets in my car. Spreading gravel out on the parking area would solve this problem.

Other than that it looks like a cool place, and obviously has a lot of good reviews. Maybe I'll get a chance to bring my son back when he's older, but his first experience was bad so he may be sour on paintball forever. I'd like to come back with my buddies (when the parking...

We traveled to play here to escape the heat of our home course. Alot to unpack, to start thier chrono machine needs to be re-calibrated i fully opened my hpa and was showing 310 on thier crono but 360 on my home course and personal crono. people registered at 360 on thier chrono and was deemed "close enough". Regulars are also not required to chrono leaving it open for regulars to cheat chrono. The staff was super disorganized, people came in to the game late without chrono testing. There are no game modes just go shoot each other. I may be spoiled at my home course but this one was very lacking. No cover coming out of spawn so you're garunteed to get spawn camped. Cover is falling apart and sways when you touch it. There are many small holes to shoot through and not be shot back leaving a huge competitive disadvantage. Regulars were very nice but they are out to hurt people on the field. Many times I was clearly out with my hand raised and they would shoot you till you were out of site. Triggers that would shoot in 3 round bursts are allowed but feathering is not. You play the same game mode all day long which gets very stale. Definitely not worth the trip if you have...

I really enjoy coming to this field on the weekends and I have a good time. All the staff are pretty respectful. There are a few things within playland that I think would need to get fixed like listening more to complaints to get rid of those cheaters everyone dislikes and really making sure everyone is within the fps limit so they are not shooting to hot which can hurt some younger kids. This is something I wished they did like adding a second airsoft field for say more tournament style play because they do have 3 paintball fields and only 1 airsoft field. Overall though I really enjoy coming, the hpa tank refills are amazing and I haven’t seen any field have refills like playland. They are a small field compared to others so there are few imperfections within there company which is totally fine. There prices are really reasonable and not to expensive so anyone could afford it and go have a good time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to have a fun time on...
