Well, the reviews said it’s a great place to eat. I didn’t find that true on my visit, was about 8:30am on a Thursday morning. Took about 5 mins to get a waitress, there was only maybe 10 people in the whole place. Greeting was very impersonal, then when I said order to go. Got a look from the waitress, anyway ordered eggs Benedict on sourdough not English muffins. This is what it looked like, it took barely 5 mins to get. Which is odd, because it takes a few to do the eggs. The hash browns were definitely under a heat lamp or ? Barely cooked, the eggs were almost cold too. Hollandaise sauce was so bland, almost tasted like mustard. Then looked like play dough by the time I got home (5 mins away), I’m sadly not impressed by the staff or the food. And to pay $17 for this, just proves why I’m better off making my own. I rarely eat out, so I do my research before I try a place I’ve never been. Lesson learned, maybe it was bad day/timing etc ? I don’t know, but it was pretty sad. Both the food and experience, I’d love to be a secret food critic. Because I seem to have the luck/unlucky , food and staff experiences . I’ve had a few good experiences, but more bad then good. Why I rarely eat out, I just wanted to not have to cook once in a while. And 8 out of 10 times, I’m disappointed. So, hope you have better luck then I did. Don’t know the names of the 2 employees I delt with, they never said...
Read moreUsually, my family and I have a wonderful experience at this place, but this time we were rather disappointed. First of all we had to keep grabbing our own setups from the table behind us because our waitress never brought them to us even after we got our food. secondly, we couldn't find her when we had to order a dinner to go. I had to search for someone to take that order. Thirdly, every time we wanted to make the smallest substitution, where they would have actually saved money, they wanted to charge us an extra dollar, every time we asked for something slightly different. Fourthly, she was rarely around to fill refill our drinks. And finally, when I ordered the delicious looking potato skins, that had sour cream, green onions, cheese and bacon (I got my bacon on the side) they only showed up with cheese on them...and not very much I'll add. I sure hope one of my fave restaurants in Petaluma won't end up in my "delete" list because they are declining in service and food. Hopefully, Lumberjacks reads their reviews and takes...
Read moreI ordered two eggs, seasonal fruit, sour dough toast and what was called a 10 ounce sirloin. And a cup of coffee, the coffee and eggs were just fine. Scrambled fluffy! The “sirloin” was actually a atranchara cut from the local carniceria. A cut I pay just over a buck for at the same place for the amount. Cool if you had ordered jerky! That was frustrating! For just under $20. The toast sat till it cooled so the butter applied was not melted. The strawberry’s should not have been served. I was one of three customers at 6:18 and alone when I left. The waitress was not attentive, not busy just yammering with the cook. Just plain lazy on her part. Polite for sure but I had to come find her for water, how’s your food, more coffee, can I get you anything else, CHECK .... hello O! There she is. Holding down the counter. This is visit five in four years. Same deal except the jerky was new! Sorry. It took five visits to feel the need to speak up. I have always ordered this meal. Perhaps they do other...
