The best choice in Petaluma for shopping for a wide variety of toys for children of all ages. You'll find cute little toys for babies and toddlers, art and science-type toys for 7-12 year olds, dolls, stuffed animals, puzzles and basic games like Scrabble, Chess, Sorry, Checkers, Boggle, Monopoly, etc.
What you won't find here is a wide selection of the latest, more complex games for adults. The choice is much more limited than you might find at, say, the great game store in San Rafael, but if you're looking for one of the classic games (like Parcheesi) chances are good you'll find it at Toy B Ville.
The new location downtown is in one of the historic brick buildings - kind of neat, very spacious and well laid-out. Water Street is the best parking choice, if you can get a spot, because it's right behind the building. Otherwise you'll need to park up above near the Bank of America or below in the big grocery store parking lot across the river.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A restroom is thoughtfully provided at this location.
If we could make one suggestion, we would ask the owners to consider not selling toy guns of any kind. They have some cowboy-style toy guns which, given the number of fatal accidents involving kids and guns, do not give us a warm feeling while shopping there. We'd ask Toy B Ville to adopt a no-guns policy and offer alternative toys that could never risk a child's safety or prompt dangerous behaviors.
We give Toy B Ville 4 stars for friendly staff, neat location, and a good variety of toys. A great place to shop for children, if not ideal for...
Read moreAwesome toy store with great location right next to the ice cream store! Lots of selection for all the favorites and new toys. I only gave 4 stars because of the B rated service I received from the young guy behind the counter. He technically did not do anything wrong, but left me feeling like I was bothering him when I asked for gift wrap. Not only did he(in my opinion) snatch up the toy to be wrapped, but then he proceeded to wrap it a hideous way. After he handed it back I asked if we could please have a bow. He slapped the bow on the package sideway with a sticker and put it on the counter with out so much as a look in my direction. I thanked him profusely and wished him a good day. He never even looked up. Perhaps he was having a bad day as we all do, maybe he hates his job? A happy place like a toy store deserves an employee that can at least offer a semi pleasant service experience for the customer, for without a customer there would be no toy...
Read moreTOY B VILLE and FAT FROGG WOW! We were in Petaluma visiting our son, Sean, and other family members and were in the market for a Strider bike for our grandson, Jordan. We usually shop over the internet, you know, Amazon, etc. However, we stopped by TOY B VILLE to see if we could see what an actual Strider bike looked like. Well to our surprise, not only did we see it, we bought it at TOY B VILLE. With our FAT FROGG 20% off coupon, we saved $25.00 more than if we ordered it over the internet. Plus TOY B VILLE wrapped it with our grandson's favorite wrapping paper, which happened to have trains on it, and tied it with a bow, ready to put under the Christmas tree. WOW!
Thanks FAT FROGG and TOY B VILLE for making our Christmas shopping so much fun, easy, and affordable. ...
