Luis may have been cool and all but the tattoo I'm left with is terrible. It's off center and the color is completely different than it should be and is all patchy. I could tell that he wasn't that good of an artist by looking at the portfolio. I only got a very small one that I was under the impression couldn't be messed up. I was wrong.

Edit: I went up there and was with a group of family. All the girls that came in, 3 got matching tattoos. I was there ONLY because they were. I was brought there. And the tattoo was free from my mother. Kind of had no choice. But thanks for the questions doubting me about being there. I can't go back because I'm in South Carolina. I got the Wu Tang 'W'. I described what was wrong with a tattoo they received from an artist. It wasn't an invitation to get all up in arms about someone giving you a bad review....

I had a full day session with Nate and it was incredible. His line work was like none other, he was super nice and made conversation with me the entire 9 hours I was there, offered to take breaks often, made absolutely sure the stencil was the right size and in the right place, and most importantly he cared about my comfort throughout the whole thing. The vibe in the shop is so great and all of the artists and staff are super welcoming and make sure that you are getting exactly what you want, where you want it, and that you know it looks great. Pricing is even better. They don’t overcharge or make you feel like you have to tip them a ridiculous amount of money. They don’t rush and it’s so clear that they want you to have a good experience and walk out of the building with a piece of art you love without burning a hole through your wallet. Awesome experience. After more than 30 years, I decided it was time to add to an existing tattoo and create a band on my calf. I drive by Hamble Ink every day but I looked online for tattoo shops near me so I could read reviews. I didn't have to read any further to see that the best around was just down the street from my house.

I mocked up the artwork and emailed it to Humble Ink. They promptly replied and scheduled a consult with Luis. I went and saw him, we talked about what I wanted to do, and made the appointment.

My last experience was 20+ years ago for a tattoo on my back - that experience left my kinda terrified but that was all for nothing. Luis was quick, the tattoo was painless, and the time in the chair was not at all stressful.

From my initial email, consult, and appointment for my tattoo, Amber and Luis were professional and informative. I would definitely use them again and recommend them...
