In trying to be fair about this, I would tell you that unless you have a huge bank roll, and live in the "Ritzy Ditzy" enclave of Peterborough where this place is located, and who it caters to, then you may want to consider going elsewhere. The entrees are overpriced on their extremely limited menu filled with their supposed "specialty" recipes all starting at around $19 bucks for chicken and vegetables placed on top of instant mashed potatoes (one of the cheapest dishes to make) - resulting in a 400% markup for the restaurant with a portion size leaving you hungry when you leave. There are no sides that come with their entrees, just bread which when asked for a second dose, has them skimping on even the bread! Meaning you have to order everything a' la carte so the cash register will go cha ching cha ching. Order a mixed drink with your meal and expect to pay around $10 bucks for it and certainly not be impressed with their "specialty" concoctions that taste plain off, then try to order a standard drink like a long island iced tea to make it right, just to find out they don't know how to make standard drinks and don't offer them. All in all two people will drop $100 bucks with tip to go here and yes you will have to go out later for snacks or a real dinner, but then again you may not have any money left to do it. Conclusion: The Peterborough enclave for those who don't know it, is filled with plenty of innocent people who are from well to do families with trust fund babies that are ripe for the numerous restaurants that come and go hanging out their sign and shingle on their doorstep to lure them in, just to take their non-hard earned money. This is just another one of them that probably won't be around too long. In Comparison you could go to any of the numerous restaurants in Keene, Concord, Nashua pay on average from $10 -$12 bucks for an entree that includes sides like vegetable, potato, even a salad all-in and have enough money for dessert and drinks and only drop about $40 bucks with tip for two people . . . and most of all NOT...
Read moreThe Bantam Grill offers an extraordinary dining experience with its upscale menu featuring bold, unforgettable flavors. They even have a gluten free menu!! During our visit, we were treated to a delightful array of dishes that left a lasting impression.
We began with the Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer, a brilliant twist on a classic. The cauliflower was perfectly crisp, with a spicy buffalo sauce that packed a punch without overwhelming the palate. It was a flavorful and satisfying start to our meal.
For the main course, the Brie Prosciutto Burger stood out as a masterpiece. The combination of creamy brie and savory prosciutto atop a juicy, perfectly cooked burger was a revelation. Each bite was a harmonious blend of rich and savory notes, making it a standout dish that is not to be missed. I think my favorite was the potato wedges that were perfectly crispy. Nailed it!
The French Onion Soup was another highlight, offering a deep, robust flavor with caramelized onions and a rich broth topped with a perfectly melted layer of cheese. It was the ideal comfort food, executed with finesse.
To round off our meal, we indulged in the Blackberry Crème Brûlée. The dessert was a perfect balance of creamy custard and tart blackberry, with a beautifully caramelized sugar crust that added a delightful crunch. It was an exquisite ending to an exceptional dining experience.

Read moreThe ambience of the place is pretty cozy and the staff seemed to work cohesively together to provide prompt service, but when asking for suggestions, the waitress seemed more or less apathetic to provide any and like she wanted us to hurry up and decide.
The taste of the food was pretty bland and “meh” for the pricing, but edible. The calamari was seasoned, but didn’t have much flavor as marinara sauce felt like the highlighted item of the appetizer when it should just add an enhancement. The brown sugar ribs were tender, but the sauce wasn’t very bold or sweet. It tasted basic and store bought. The side with the dish were the potatoes wedges, which were pretty good, but the sauce brought along with them was very bland and could have used some salt, and overall negatively affected the flavor profile they were going for but felt like I would have been scolded if I asked for ketchup.
My husband had the smoky chicken and bacon carbonara which he said was pretty good, but it was supposed to have cavatelli noodles, but instead had some pasta we had never seen before in our life. The dish certainly did not come out as described, which was only a small disappointment. While the head chef has great intentions for his menu, I feel the kitchen staff may need some retraining on how to prepare the food according to the planned menu.
If I wanted to go back out for Italian food, I’ll probably skip this place and head to the Olive Garden where they treat you...
