I have been coming to this establishment for over 20 years and I have always received great service. Well today was a completely different story. I came in early today to be the Sunday rush and if you frequent This place you know it can get crowded. I arrived and not even two minutes after then o place some strawberries in my basket then some berries next think I know the manager is over in my face telling me I’m Destroying in the apples. I’m a certified chef why would I come into an establishment that I clearly needs and come to often and distort the produce I need to purchase. Like I placed my basket on the corner of the box how can that distroy some apples. After him yelling at me to told him to get out my face that is not the way you talk to a customer. He gone say you can get the duck out I said I’m not going anywhere. He still going back and forth with me other customers hearing him staff hearing him he didn’t even care. I finally get to the front he is next to register I’m at I ask the person helping me what the owner name she tells me and ask is everything okay I started to tell her he start to verbally attack Me about to the point where I just snapped. This should have not ever happen clearly there was a cultural Barrier When I called to talk to the owner his daughter tell me she is sorry then say she will not make excuses for him but immediately Start to make excuses. She tells me he been there for 10 years an I explained to her that if I been coming there over 29 then he should know me since he the manager and would know that I never mess anything up I’m the store I shop and leave period. But this whole situation is out of this world. As the customer I should have not been told that he could have been over whelmed because he had a lot to do. That’s not my fault it should be a breeze since he has been doing it for 10 years what he should also know since he had been there 10 years is how to treat the customers who Patronize establishment. He action were unacceptable and the Daugther response was unacceptable and she was a nice as she wanted to be. But I see why he thinks it’s okay to talk to me in that manner just like she think all he needs is a talking too. Smdh the world we live in this could have went completely different. Someone could have ended up hurt you never talk to a customer or women like your going to fight them I should have just attacked him since I felt attacked anyway I would feel better about the situation. Not to mention he snatched me food out of his co worker hand and start...
Read moreI’m sad that I have to write this because this is actually my favorite produce market ever!! It’s convenient to my home and the prices are amazing. I’m probably in the store about three times a week lol. First off let me say the workers in here aren’t really greeting but I never really ran into any issues with them so today was weird. This worker was an older darkskin lady had to be about 45 or older. When I got in line to check out my produce, I realized I forgot my debit card. I apologized to the lady and told her I’ll be back. She didn’t really say nothing, just gave me a blank nasty stare. I didn’t really make nothing of it as I said they’re not the most greeting people. When I got back to the store. I got back in line. I noticed the guy in front of me card had declined. I overheard the lady aggressively telling him YOU DONT HAVE MONEY! I thought it was rude, but I made nothing of it. When I got to the counter, I said hello and apologized to the lady once again, she literally just gave me a blank stare and proceeded to ring up my produce. She told me the price, I put my debit card in and it declined. She did a side smirk and chuckled under her breath which I thought was rude but again people have bad days I guess. I asked her if she could do it again she told me no there’s nothing wrong with the machine and that “ I DIDNT HAVE ANY MONEY” I proceeded to ask her a couple times again because I was sure that i had money, she finally tried it again, and IT WENT THROUGH. She just looked at me, no apology, nothing. I proceeded to ask for a bag. I thought I heard her say $.10 so I gave her $.10 then she proceeded to say $.15 after handing me my bag. I slammed the other five cent on the countertop as by this time I was offended, at not only the immaturity, but the audacity. Anyway as I walked out the store, she aggressively followed after me yelling. I ignored her because at this point I don’t understand how she felt offended when she was the one being rude! Like why are you telling people they have no money? how would you know that? As a black person this was one of the few places I felt comfortable coming into. It’s sad because again I do love this store, but I like to spend my money where I feel comfortable and after today’s encounter, I don’t really feel comfortable in this...
Read moreSo today I made it my business to not only price out my items, but watch the cashier bring up my things, why? two days ago I went here and the owners rung me up and she charged me six dollars for plums. They’re nowhere near six dollars. so I priced out my items to 13.75. I was also using a EBT card, I purchased a veggie sandwich which cost $5.75 a small fruit salad which was only three dollars a mango juice which was five dollars Pretty much it. I went to register with my ticket to pay for my veggie sandwich from the produce, and the cashier added on tax. I explained to her that it was illegal to charge tax Items that was purchased with EBT. she drug her shoulders and looked at me like I was crazy. I then ask for the manager and he came out and explained to me that that was their store policy. he also explained that he knew that it was against the law. So if you’re using EBT at this produce market be aware, they are scamming, big time. This is also my own personal opinion I believe that because they have a lot of immigrants that’s not on paper This is the reason why most Of the customers are being treated disrespect. They believe that we have something that they don’t have, And they’re jealous. Every time I use my EBT card, they literally take my receipt and look at the balance. I also overheard young ladies complaining about Americans and how we got all this money and just don’t know what to do with it. I have been going to the same produce market since I was about 12 years, And now that they have immigrants working The atmosphere has shifted For the worst. The only reason why I continue going here is because The owners now I actually know their parents, And they ran...
