Yeah, I went in here, trying to give them the benefit of his house. I asked for red snapper rice and peas and cabbage. He then asked me did I want a third option? I told him no because all the options are not cooked correct or old food. To go to the hair store around the corner to purchase a bag because they did not give me a bag, There was juice from the food dripping all over. Not only the Chinese lady in front of me say that it smells really bad to young students, A young man and a young lady expressed how bad it smelled. I’ve went to smell my fingers and it smell like rotten fish. The countertop was soaked with the juice for my planter as well as my fingers and it smelled so bad that the Chinese lady that worked there offered to give me some wet wipes. I bought the food back. I didn’t even say anything. All I said was can I get a refund, and he began to get extremely disrespectful. Every Jamaican know that this restaurant is horrible. they’re not selling rotten food. They’re also changing their...

I cant believe I'm writing this but the food here is not as good as it used to be. I have had my order taken down wrong on more than one occasion. Only to be met with a very combative attitude by the older woman (owner's wife) that works there. If seen her speak to people very rudely and didnt tolerate it when she tried to speak to me that way. Never do you EVER speak to a customer who spends their hard earned money with disrespect.

My chicken was dry as well as my rice and peas. My mac an cheese was watery and was not cheesy at all, I threw it away. Also too much salt is used on alot of the food. Have you switched cooks??

The owners and cooks really need to sit down and talk about how to make things better because its apparent that something isnt right. Dont come here out of convenience just because it's close by. There are fantastic spots in Philly do your research.

Jamaican D's is another option that is 1 mile away from this place. Grill and Dutchy around the corner from here are...

I'm really glad the whole island of Jamaica decided to move from the Caribbean to Germantown Philly, because the food tasted and presented as if it was directly from Jamaica.

It was my first time going here, and it will not be my last.

I ordered to take out, but then ended up eating in the front outside area of the restaurant.

I got Dumplings, White Rice, BBQ Chicken, and Green Beans - Medium Size.

The amount of food is really good. In fact - it was too much food - in a good way.

You definitely get your $$ worth in proportion to the food size you get.

They take cash or credit.

You can sit outside and eat - right in front of the restaurant - you just have to open the little switch latch to the gate - to walk through and sit down.

When you're done eating outside, the trash can is right inside at the front entrance for easy convenience.

Owner was really friendly. Helped me order through the menu since it was my first time.

Highly recommend if you are really hungry. Zero...

My dish was so watered down. I wish I could show you a better picture but the location of this place was rough and terrible parking so I opened my food for a quick bite and saw ALL THAT WATER then took a picture. The oxtail was floating in unseasoned water. The oxtail was BLAND too and the girl refused to give me the medium size that was listed. She said they'd only do it in a large. You know what's worse than buying expensive bad food?! Buying a LARGE PORTION of expensive bad food 🤢🤢🤢 I AM NEVER COMING BACK. It's a slow paced place with bad attitude/funny acting workers inside. Meanwhile the guys outside between the gates were trying to talk to me. They should focus more on using less water in their meals. The okra was watery too. My rice was floating!!

I have been going to K&J for about 5 years now and I’m rarely disappointed. Their platters range from about $8-$15 (depending on meat and platter size); they also offer lunch platter discounts too. I go primarily for the curried goat, plantains, veggie patties, and fried dumplings. They have a good selection of desserts available also; I recommend the sweet potato cheesecake if you want a suggestion. Do know that some things do run out faster than others, so give them a call if you’re going around lunch or rush hour times. Stop in and give them a try...you won’t know if you like it until you do. Be warned, if you plan to use your credit/debit cards, you will need to also present your ID, and there is a $10 minimum.

Bruh, I’m so tired of spending my money on poor tasting food. The reviews had me hoping this was a good Jamaican restaurant. No... it’s not. Don’t let these tasteless reviews steer you in this direction. The season isn’t there, just alil salt pepper would go a long way. The cabbage wasn’t seasoned AT ALL and they might’ve used two slices of cheese for my Mac cheese. Yeah the proportions are big but the taste is lacking severely, it’s really annoying. Idk if it was the cook but this is my second time here and the food was lack luster. K&J, please, use more seasonings next time. It’s really a shame when food is nasty when it doesn’t have to be. Wouldn’t recommend. So mad I spent my money here!
