I bought my daughter here to get a wash conditioned and press and curl it was my first time bringing her to a Dominican hair salon and let me tell u it was my last. My daughter had beautiful natural shoulder length hair yes I said had because when they got finished with her hair it began to fall out in clumps starting the very next day after I took her there it smelled like some type of burnt chemical this shop and all others that thinks it's fine to put a relaxer in someone's hair without their permission should be put out of business immediately. Their trying to make their job easier by doing this a professional hair salon should be able to handle all types of hair especially natural hair. How dare you damage people's hair by sneaking relaxer in it and then lying about it. I've dealt with relaxer in my own hair for years so I know what it looks like when it's been damage due to a relaxer and I see my daughter wasn't the first person nor the last person you snuck a relaxing chemical in their hair I hope you go out of business you will reap what you sowed. To anybody that value your hair don't trust none of these Dominican salons this one has given them all a bad reputation. I would not trust any of them. I got my daughter's hair done here a couple of years ago and couldn't figure out how to give them this review at that time, then I stumbled across their hair salon info today and felt a strong urge to warn people about this so called salon, also I forgot to mention most of them have very bad attitudes especially once you confront them about them sneaking relaxers in people's hair. Been coming here since I was a little girl and I am now in my early 20s after today I will not be coming back. I came in with a braid down abt 7 braids it completely slipped my mind to ask if the wash girl could take them out once I got to the bowl I told her that I wanted a deep condition also, she had another girl come over to tell me about my braids the wash girl had an attitude and proceeded to look at me with her hand on her hips. I told the girl I will take them down which I did. I sat back down unaware that I missed a braid she tugged on my hair once she felt that braid and proceeded to take it out. The wash she did was good but she did not wash my hair more than once after braids my hair should be washed thoroughly. While getting my hair washed I over heard the other girl mentioning something about braids, I took my braids out myself so I’m confused on why it’s an issue. Even on the Facebook page it says come as you are that should be removed if it’s a different story inside the salon. I have the girl that usually sits at the front the money including money for the wash girl she goes it was only $45 you gave me 60 while shaking her head and I explained to her what the rest was for even though it was a small tip why is that an issue also. I would visit this salon on a regular basis. Then I stopped going because my edges began to thin out. I started going to a black owned salon for about 6 months and my hair grew and thickened tremendously. One weekend I was unable to get an appointment with my new stylist so I decided to go back to this salon. I got a wash and press as usual. I did notice while getting my hair washed my scalp began to tingle. I did not pay attention to it. My hair was beautifully done as usual and I went on my way. The following week I went to my regular stylist and we noticed my hair was thin and didn’t have much volume as before. I firmly believe perm was put in my hair at Jinette’s salon. As my hair grew out my scalp would hurt. The irritation to the scalp did occur previously when I stopped going the first time. I was so ignorant and didn’t think this actually was what they were doing. The staff is polite and friendly. But why do they think this is professional to put chemicals in someone’s hair without their permission. They don’t know if I had any allergies to perm. Everyone thinks it’s the heat that breaks their hair off. No ladies it’s the perm they are putting in your hair. Please stop this practice. You are ruining people’s hair.
