Dollar General — Local services in Philadelphia

I went here the other day to pickup money that was sent via Western Union, since it clearly states it’s available at this location on the ‘Western Union’ website, the ‘Dollar General’ website as well as the individual store website. It even gives specific instructions on what you need to do if you are doing a money pickup, which for some reason requires you to start your pickup online on the western Union website before going to the store to finish. Of course when I get to this store, I was told that they don’t do money pickup for Western Union, you can only send. Of course i was already a little annoyed because it says otherwise online, but when i drove to another Western Union location (Acme), my money was now on “hold” due to me starting the pickup online as ‘Dollar General’ had instructed me to do. So after spending 15 min on the phone with WU customer service, I was FINALLY able to receive my money.

At another nearby ‘Dollar General’ location, which also very clearly stated online that ‘Western Union’ is available. When I got there & mentioned WU the manager came up & very rudely informed me that they don’t do ‘Western Union’.

Went in today to return an opened box of trash bags that did not have perforations between the bags, so could not be pulled apart. The male cashier gave me an attitude, shaking his head and smirking and BARKED AT ME "How are we supposed to re-sell this when it's opened!!!" I said "Why would you re-sell it when I just told you what the problem was?" Then he threw the box across the room, then pulled the roll out and started pulling the bags apart, yelling " Oh boy, you REALLY got me there! Because I only pulled out the first 20 bags with no perforation and naturally assumed the entire roll would be the same, so I didn't waste an entire hour of my life for a measly 6 buck box of garbage bags, so I was ripping off Dollar General? Yeah buddy, you thwarted my master plan of bringing down a chain of discount stores! If you're reading this, you DOUCHE, how about just exercising a little customer service next time? I wouldn't be returning an open box of trash bags just to fund my life of luxury. You don't OWN the place, you just work there, what skin is it off your back to just say "Oh sorry about that" and processed the refund instead of insulting a customer, who will NOT be returning to this store ever again.

I've been going to this store for 3 years and never complained. Last Saturday, July 8th, I came in with my friend and we had a lot of cat food cans. I went to my car to grab a quick snack and after 20 min when I came back my friend was still staying at the register. She told me the cashier started serving other customers behind her just because the have fewer items. She doesn't speak English so she couldn't tell them. The cashier was Sara and there was another cashier Suhe (-ni?) but for some reason my friend had to wait for other customers who came later than her!!!!! This is a pure discrimination and it's a total disgrace to Dollar General! I'm not coming back there and will recommend all my friends...
