Chickpeas Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I came here with my boyfriend on 6/2/25 , and it was both of our first time here.

When we stepped inside and it was our turn to order, we were greeted by a younger gentleman (Abdo) and a nice lady. Both friendly. Very welcoming.

We both ordered lamb+beef platter And a side order of tabbouleh.

While waiting, Abdo, gave us a sample of hummus, falafel, etc. which was very cool and very nice of him. It gives us an idea on what to order for next time.

I think this has to be the first falafel I tasted that was really good. I’ve tried falafel in other places but this one was like a size of a meatball and it was really good. I like this one better.

Not only their customer service was top tier, But the food itself is wonderful. So much flavor and juice in the meat. I like how everything tasted fresh and is flavorful. Everything you eat or drink here will make you go mmmmmm😋 I was literally doing happy dance when I took a bite of my food.

Anyway, 10/10 . No wonder they got 5 stars on Google. This place is awesome and we’re definitely going to come back.

(So much better than franchise Chipotle, Halal Guys, etc. and it definitely beats all the food truck I’ve been at in my opinion. So. MUCH. Better)

And the portion in the platter is 🤯🤯🤯 generously big ! This place and the staff is Awesome...

Chickpeas consistently brings both outstanding food and a welcoming atmosphere to the table every time that I crave a Mediterranean meal. With an expansive menu, consisting of platters, sandwiches, salads, falafel, jucies/smoothies, and a long list of sides/toppings, you will always leave Chickpeas satisfied with your order! All of their menu items are fresh, hot, and always delicious! I would strongly reccomend the shawarma-style chicken or the gyro as your protein for a platter or sandwich. But despite their great food, the reason I keep coming back is because of their extremely good service! Everyone who has served me at Chickpeas, including the owner, has been nothing but accomodating, friendly, and generous to myself and my friends each and every time we have ordered food from there! They have offered us free samples of different menu items, extra sauces, and even extra toppings! The people who work at Chickpeas genuinely care about their customers and that YOUR order is always perfect. They are great to talk to, and everyone who I have had the pleasure of interacting with at Chickpeas has been very friendly and personable. I will be returning to Chickpeas soon, and I definitely reccomend that anyone who hasn't tried it yet treat themselves to this...

Was visiting family in the northeast and was craving some schwarma or a decent gyro. Did a search and saw the outstanding reviews. I was a bit dubious it could really be that good and I was right...

It was EVEN BETTER.

The place was immaculate, the service was outstanding, and the food was so good I want to back tomorrow. When my GF and I hesitated on what to get the owner offered up an amazing mini-sampler plate of the various meats and some of the hummus varieties. It was all excellent, super fresh tasting, and delicious.

I went with a beef-lamb sandwich. If you like spicy, try their home-made hotsauce. He said it had seven types of chilis and some diced kalamata olives in it. It was very hot, but didn't linger and is possibly the best tasting hot sauce i've ever had. So complex and well balanced.

My GF went with the greek chicken platter and devoured it in the car. She wasn't even that hungry and had a clean bowl before we got to our destination.

The owner and staff were super kind and professional. It was one of those resturant experiences where you walk away and think, "why can't all places be like that?"
