I am very lucky to have this German products/butcher store relatively close by. It’s my go to stop to buy freshly made (in-house) würste/sausages. I usually select a few different types. They also offer a number of cold cuts/lunch meats & side salads. My favorite lunch meat being the paprika lyoner (think of a bologna with roasted pepper/pimento pieces in it). I also like the gelbwurst. Usually I will add a tube of German spicy mustard to my basket. There are plenty of other German products available. I was happy to see that they have a curry ketchup/sauce. There are plenty of german gummies & chocolates. Luckily the store offers parking in the back. Sometimes street parking can get tricky over there.

I have driven past this place for year and I am so glad I finically stoped in. Now I go there at least once a month. I’m slowly trying their whole selection of delicious sausages. They are very affordable and a great party food. My friends are loving it too now. Hosting tip: get three or four sausage types, and a bunch of yummy pickles and sides. Then cook them all and place on a board for a homemade bratwurst board! Don’t forget which sausages are which, because your guest will be very curious. Also, don’t forget different mustards and buns!

Fresh Thuringer sausage, weiners and ground sirloin (ground every day). They now carry a line of fresh baked bread (see photos). The prices are in par with other prime meat shops. I have no idea why some reviews indicate the staff are rude or inconsiderate. I come here once a month and the staff are always helpful and pleasant. They will package the meat exactly the way you want. The store is small and if they ask you to wear a mask it's to keep the staff and other customers safe.

I just came home from THE ABSOLUTE WORST customer service I have ever experienced!! BAR NONE!! Let me say before I begin that AT NO TIME did I EVER raise my voice or use inappropriate language to the cashier!! This I SWEAR ON MY LIFE!! It started by my making a phone call to place an almost $70 ""freezer order" . On my initial call I could not get thru b/c it was a recording. However, not the type of recording that asks you to hold on , disconnected me after a message about their hours. When I finally got thru, I told the girl on the phone that I didn't think that was helpful, It should NOT have disconnected!! SHE HUNG UP ON ME RIGHT THEN AND THERE!! I REALLY needed the freezer order or I would have NEVER, EVER bothered to pick it up!! I AGAIN told my story to (I believe) another cashier CALMLY when I picked up the order She got very belligerent with me and said: " we're busy, I don't know how I could be more helpful" I in turn said (calmy) "you need to LISTEN to your customers or they don't come back!!! MY RIGHT HAND TO HEAVEN,🤚🤚 She said " I don't think I want you back"!! I can tell you now--- she NEED NOT worry about that ever again !!!! IF I didn't need the order as urgently as I did I would have returned it which I almost did!! BUT NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN!! & I Will be sure to relate this story to as many people as I can!!! I would also mention that this cashier not only lacks customer service skills, she lacks respect for seniors in the community!! I live in an apartment complex that has almost 200 units!! I will BE SURE to SPREAD THE WORD!! I have also read other posts in this review section with VERY,VERY SIMILAR experiences to mine!! If this is the kind of endorsements they want for their Business --- I hope they enjoy their...

Very disappointed! Placed my first order almost 2 months ago (I ordered my favorite Gelbwürst) cause I can’t get it anywhere in town. When I received my order it was the wrong order. It belonged to someone else. I called Rieker and spoke to the mgr/owner Paul or Marcus I’m not quite sure which one and told him what happened he asked me, “Well, did you like the order?” I said it’s a great order but it’s not mine and it’s not what I ordered. The packing slip had someone else’s name on it. He did tell me he would send me another order and he would send me 3lbs instead of the 2lb that I ordered. I just received my order today. I opened the box and the dry ice was melted and the meat was luke warm. Ughhhh!! Very disappointed AGAIN!! I called Rieker AGAIN and I explained to the gal what happened abt the 1st order being wrong and she rudely said to me, yeah I know all abt that order because that was the first time that’s ever happened and I told her, I doubt that because the lady that it was supposed to go to is missing her order to. She hung up on me and I called back, she answered the phone and I asked her why she hung up on me and she said we got disconnected and I said yeah right! She took down my name and number and said she would have someone call me back….. I will let you know if they do. Horrible...

I went there today to get lunch meat and potato salad and coleslaw. They employees were apparently starving and eating a pizza next to the meat slicers WITH THEIR GLOVES ON with sauce and melted cheese dripping down their chins. Then wiped their faces with the same gloves, then WENT STRAIGHT BACK to grabbing the meats and cheeses to begin slicing WITH THE SAME GLOVES. One of the female employees (non-Rieker family member) (short, with hair pulled tight with wrinkled sunburned skin) really was eating in an unappetizing manner around the foods with of course gloves on. I left and went to the AUSTRIAN VILLAGE up the street- and actually their potato salad and cole slaw is 100% better than this place. I phoned the Riekers store to let the owner know but could not get past the granddaughter of original owner- she said "I'll tell them". Well, I will "tell them too" by informing the public, the son butcher, and the Philadelphia department of health, I am sure that they would be interested to hear this. The butcher (son) was the only one who actually wiped himself down with a papertowel but did not wash his hands and went straight back to make sausages or what ever he was making with raw meat. I WILL NOT BE...
