BUYER BEWARE!!! THIS MAN WILL NICKEL AND DIME YOU ON EVERY PRODUCT AND SERVICE. HE LACKS QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WILL SCAM YOU IF YOU ALLOW IT. He will tell you that he has the best prices and try to sell you everything in the store, then will charge extra just for providing customer service to you or in my experience, if you change your mind about buying 1 out of 3 items, he will tell you that you cannot buy anything at all (FULL STORY FURTHER DOWN, keep reading). If you breathe too much air in the cramped hole he calls a beauty supply store, he might even double tax you!
PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS, ALWAYS REVIEW THE PRICES AND WATCH WHAT HES TYPING INTO HIS 1940 CASH REGISTER if you so choose to support such a place. I am fairly new to the area and started going to 4M for wigs last year some time but I immediately stopped when I realized he would add on fees that did not make sense and then get defensive when I asked why. I returned to where I am from in Essex County NJ to get my wigs and THEN around Feb/March I decided to give this man another CHANCE when my mom really needed a wig coming out of recovery from a surgery and couldn’t go far. He pretended to be very accommodating and nice and I even think he gave her a deal so I started returning every week, yes, EVERY WEEK, to buy my wigs but ofcourse ALWAYS CHECKING THE PRICE.
I know I can be very needy, indecisive, and get frustrated in trying to find the best wig for me but I always BUY and in CUSTOMER SERVICE you should want to be there to assist and help your client come to the best option without being forceful or making it seem like you are annoyed or aggravated (mind you, if anyone was there, I would wait on him just so I am not holding him up from other business). But I brushed his attitude off because he would give me deals due to the fact that I bought a wig that was not cheap EVERY WEEK, sometimes 2!!!
HERES WHY I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS PLACE. I went there today for a wig, wig cap, and I also saw a scarf with a pretty pattern so I picked that up to. I was about to look for a 2nd wig to buy but was informed by the man that it was almost closing time, which was cool, I just said I’ll come back tomorrow for the 2nd wig. I came to the register and saw that he already totaled everything, but like I said, ALWAYS WATCH THE PRICES HE’S ENTERING. The price seemed high so I started inquiring about the price of the scarf, and ofcourse he began getting defensive saying it was the tax. He refused to enter the prices individually again so I told him to take the scarf off, to which he responded “then don’t by nothing”. SERIOUSLY??!! I have bought wigs in many places, NEVER HAVE I EVER been dismissed in this manner for deciding not to buy an item because of the price. I have referred my Mom AND my Sister here, my sister even bought bundles from him, which she later told me she found the same set of bundles online for half the price!!!
People go here because they think it is the only beauty supply store in the area but it is not! There is also SYSTAHOOD in Easton, BEAUTY EMPORIUM, and even WALMART. Yes, WALMART carries all products these beauty supply stores offer, and at a much cheaper price. I got my Got2b glue, Ecogel, Combs, etc, all from Walmart. If you are looking to buy hair at a cheaper price, your best bet is to buy online. You can look at the brand and name of wig or bundle on the tag then search for it online and find it for much cheaper. I am sure there are other Beauty supply stores in the area. I will certainly find them and update this but please DO NOT choose to be taken advantage of at 4M just for convenience! He will only continue this behavior as long as he is able to get away with it. Read moreI'm all for supporting black business but this location I will not be returning to. Even though the selection of hair is plentiful the quality isn't. I'm not sure if the prices are always this high or it's just because of the COVID -19 shut down. Also the man was very rude and irritated from the time I spoke to him on the phone and in the store it got worst.When I got in the store I said hello to him and asked him how was his day so far and his response was " it was fine til I got here" with an attitude. If he having problems with his wife don't take it out on me I didn't do anything to you sir. I'm not driving all the way from another state for attitude and I said and did nothing wrong nor did I retaliate with words. I spend more than $50 which is required To enter store and all I really wanted was crochet hair. I hope this business succeed but I won't be partaking in the success of it.
Your response to MY posting about your business just confirmed your attitude. You need better customer service skills or at least someone who can articulate in not such a nasty matter. You know you we're open during shutdown taking appointments only trying to make money and I'm ok with that. What I'm not ok with is your nasty attitude. Read moreThis was my first time coming to this store and I have to say the pricing is outlandish and they are basically stealing your money. The owner of the store was nice at first. I asked him where the Durag section was and he directed me to the wall at which they stay. I began looking around for prices only to come to the realization that price tags were not hung what so ever. So I ask the owner how much for one durag and he told me it was $3.99. I then proceeded to respectfully ask why they were charging so much for just one and he responded by asking me “how much do you usually get them ?” I then responded “in Irvington they usually charge 1.99” he then proceeded to get up from behind the counter and take the Durags I was looking for out of my hand. Responding “then go get 10 dollar gas and go buy your 1.99 durags” I didn’t want to create any trouble so I gave him them back and told him to have a great day.It’s crazy how a 18 year old can handle that situation better than someone who in charge of a business like you’re own. You are very rude and disrespectful to someone who simple asked a question about the pricing. I HOPE everyone knows that everything in that store is incredible overpriced and hopefully find a better and more respectful shop.I hope everyone noticed a pattern when someone has something bad to say about his store.
